In the words of Jim Carter ... today is one of his most favorite days of the year. Not because it’s October 11th ... but rather because it’s the day of the Boys & Girls Club golf tournament!!!!! As a club kid himself just a few years ago 😉, he really knows the impact a club can make on the lives of the 500 kids per day served by the B&G Clubs on the Western Slope.

Today a couple hundred likeminded people got together on the golf course for some fun, some margaritas at “The Office” and to raise some money for the kids.

Thank you to everyone who supported the kids in any way today !!!

This past spring we completed our 3rd fire station for the City of Roseville. All three stations were delivered via Design Assist delivery method with MFDB Architects.

On October 13th ... CKI and friends got together to raise funds for the Boys & Girls Club. Great time had by all!!

We supported a program today that raises money for middle school / high school wood shop programs. It's called "Woodshop Rocks" ... they teach the kids how to make guitars 🎸!!! Very cool and beautiful day on the course with 3 of our Project Mangers.

The Boys & Girls Club is really taking shape!!

As the primary charity of Carter-Kelly Inc., we as a company have taken immense pride in helping make this dream a reality for the kids at the club. The guidance and contributions from Jim and Maureen Carter have paved the way. Included in this effort are the donations of countless subcontractors and suppliers who are true partners in business and philanthropy. This amazing facility will help shape great futures of the kids in our community.

Brett Hayes

The Carter-Kelly, Inc. family regrets to inform you that Brett Hayes passed away Friday, October 16, 2015. Brett leaves behind his wife Angela and their four children: Mallorie, Brock, Ben and Michael.

Memorial services are Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 4pm in the afternoon. Services will be held at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Parish, located at 11361 Prospect Drive, Jackson, CA 95642.

In lieu of flowers the family has established an account to help support the needs of Brett’s children. Contributions can be made to the following:

Hayes Children Donation Account at El Dorado Savings Bank. Contributions can be made at any EDSB Branch or sent to PO Box 277, Sutter Creek, CA 95865

Brett Hayes began his construction experience as a teen in the 1980’s. Brett’s experience and well-rounded knowledge brought him to CKI in 1996. Brett served our company as a Project Manager and Senior Estimator. During his career at CKI, he managed well over 25 educational facilities projects and completed more than 15 major municipal facilities projects including libraries and fire stations.

When Brett was not on the jobsite mentoring our field superintendents or in the office working over a set of plans, he enjoyed mentoring his 4 children in a multitude of extra-curricular youth sports and 4-H activities. Brett coached everything from soccer, to volleyball to youth football.

Brett will be sorely missed by all of us at CKI and missed by his numerous construction industry friends.

Our thoughts are with Brett’s family and hope they find peace through the grieving process and remember his life as one that was well lived. We know firsthand the love he had for his family and hope his love will carry them through this difficult time.
