This is huge for homeowners this year.
If you’re planning any landscaping, take a look at this program. You can get paid per square foot to remove grass and replace it with water wise landscaping.
With the drought we’re expecting, xeriscaping just makes sense. Less water, less maintenance, and money back in your pocket.
Check out the rules in the post and let’s save you some money this season. 🪨💰
We have BIG news!
Your city now qualifies for the Landscape Lawn Exchange Program!
That’s right — all cities in Weber Basin Water Conservancy District can now participate.
The Landscape Lawn Exchange program is for the removal of lawn in any area of your yard and replacing it with water-efficient alternatives!
We help offset the cost so you can be water-wise.
Homeowners can receive:
$1.25 – $2.50 per square foot (based on city ordinances) to remove lawn and replace it with:
• At least 35% of ornamental plants
• Water-efficient landscape materials
• Drip irrigation instead of spray heads
Less grass! Less water! More savings!
Who Qualifies?
To participate, the homeowners must meet the following requirements:
• Grass must currently be living
• Minimum 250 square feet of lawn must be removed (except parkstrips)
• Replace lawn with at least 35% plant material
• Replace spray heads with drip irrigation
Important: Application must be approved before removing lawn!
To help with costs, we are offering:
• $1.25 per square foot for residents of cities that have not adopted required water-efficient landscape ordinances
• $2.50 per square foot for residents of qualifying cities with required water-efficient landscape ordinances already adopted. To see a list of eligible cities for $2.50 click the link https://conservewater.utah.gov/landscape-rebates/
