Banning Engineering Founded by Jeff Banning in 1994, Jeff’s vision was to create a company that would represent his values, character, and passion.

We provide Civil Engineering and Land Surveying services. Located in Plainfield, Indiana, Banning Engineering is a Civil Engineering and Surveying firm that offers a wide variety of services including Site Engineering, Hydraulics & Hydrology and Land Surveying. Registered in Indiana and the surrounding states, Banning Engineering is committed to make ‘Your Project Our Priority’. Founded in 1994 by Jeff Banning, his vision was to create an organization that would represent his values, character and passion. Banning Engineering has evolved and grown into an organization of skilled individuals who have a similar vision and dedication. This dedication enables the firm to excel at a wide variety of projects including but not limited to: drainage, dam related issues, construction inspection, erosion and sediment control design, regulatory compliance consulting and road planning/design. The reputation of Banning Engineering has been built upon the professionalism of the staff and its history of managing, completing and delivering projects within budget and on time. With the average tenure of the engineers on staff being over 11 years, Jeff’s team is empowered to consult and lead projects with integrity and direction. With clients ranging from Municipal Agencies to Private Developers including individuals, Banning Engineering takes pride in each project as no two projects are the same. Banning Engineering always maintains the highest professional standards as we continually reinvest in our staff, in our technology and in our community. Happy Employee Ownership Month! 🎉

We kicked off October at The ESOP Association's Great Lakes Regional Conference, learning alongside employee-owners from across the region about what it really means to be an owner.

In 2022, rather than risk Banning being bought by another company, Jeff Banning chose to make our employees the owners through an ESOP. Today, Banning Engineering is 100% employee-owned, and we're proud of it!

We came home with a ton of ideas and even more excitement for the month ahead. We are celebrating all month long! 😊

Every year, our team looks forward to the Plainfield Quaker Day Parade, organized by the Plainfield Chamber of Commerce. Normally we have a group dedicated to decorating the float. But this year, project work kept everyone busy.

Service to our community is part of who we are, and so is delivering for our clients. When those priorities compete, it comes down to people willing to step up and put in the extra effort. That's what being 100% employee-owned looks like in practice.

THANK YOU to Tiffany Miller and Lora Ann Moody-Myers for making sure our float was ready and that Banning could take part in a tradition that matters so much to Plainfield. ❤️🤍💙 And thank you to all of our employees who participated.

What a great day at the IMPA 2026 Lineman Appreciation Event! Banning Engineering was proud to sponsor the Co****le Tournament and spend time with the crews who keep the lights on across Indiana.

Linemen work long hours, weekends, and overnight shifts, doing whatever it takes to keep power flowing to our homes and keep our communities safe. We're grateful for everything they do, especially in times of extreme need.

A special congratulations to Pendleton Utilities' own Craig Switzer, who received the Kerry Vincent Distinguished Lineworker Award from IMPA President & CEO Jack Alvey. Craig's commitment to safety, service, and his community makes this recognition well deserved. Thank you for all of your efforts!
