These stairs were a bit of a grind for sure. 3 days of sanding to get them ready for stain. Today the final coat went down and the homeowner is thrilled with how they turned out. Nutmeg on pine is a new one for me. But they wanted some color on them.

Before and after from the most recent refinish. 126 year old home, and they are pretty sure the floors are original. It’s a 5/16” thick, top nailed only floor. No tongue and grove at all. Rift and quartersawn white oak, stained nutmeg to really highlight the quartersawn boards. Top coated with DuraSeal Maxx in satin. Started the second phase of the job today, the stairs.

Started this refinish today. I can’t wait to see the final results! 126 year old rift and quartersawn white oak, top nailed. This should be a stunner when it’s completed! A light stain color will really make all the quartersawn pop!

Wrapped up this project today. Refinished the prefinished yellow birch floors, removed the old railing system, replaced the nosing with the correct species (it had red oak previously) of wood, and then installed the new railing for the homeowners while they are on vacation so they can come home to their project finished!

Another smaller project that I finished up this past week for a client that was hoping I could squeeze them in so they could get their home listed on the market.

Summer schedule is pretty much full already with limited openings and I even have started scheduling some work into September already. If you’re thinking about getting some work done, don’t wait too long.

Wrapped up this kitchen remodel this week for a good friend. Laid new 5.25” character grade white oak from , glue assisted installation then finished it off with 3 coats of Invisible to keep that light and raw wood look. The railing system was also made of white oak, but stained to match the new cabinets. I even got an assist when it came to tightening up all the baluster shoes from my summer intern! I might keep her. lol

Well, that’s a wrap on the New Jersey work, for this year. Might be back next year for more, have a lot of figuring to work on to make sure it will work. Ended up being out there for just shy of 4 weeks. Put the last coats of finish down on the master bedroom and living room yesterday. Was great to see some good friends and make some new ones, but it will be good to be back home as well. Made to Elkhart Indiana tonight, should be home mid afternoon tomorrow.

This is actually pretty cool. One of the potential future projects for me out here in New Jersey would be a herringbone in a grand foyer. I used AI to generate this rendition and it almost nailed it perfectly to the homeowners idea.

Finished up this room this past week out here in New Jersey. In between coats of finish and waiting for the glue down to set, installed maple in a new office and started sanding on the second story floors.

First completed project here in New Jersey for my buddies dad. Refinished these three bedrooms and went with Loba Invisible. Rest of the house is measured up for a return trip in the future to make the rest of it match and give many years of use!
