UW-Platteville Baja SAE

UW-Platteville Baja SAE UW-Platteville Baja team is an aspiring group of engineers shaping the future of small engine racing

UW-Platteville’s Baja SAE has established a well structured team which provides many opportunities for its members to design and build an off-road vehicle for use in the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) international collegiate design competitions. Members learn hands-on skills as well as effective team working strategies that will be essential to succeed in industry upon graduation. Members

engage in practical engineering, learn complex manufacturing techniques, and feel the pressure of working under deadlines and strict budgets. Best of all, members receive great satisfaction with driving their designs from sketches to an aggressive, off road vehicle.

Interested in Baja SAE or looking for a way to get more hands-on engineering experience? Come check out UW-Platteville SAE Baja at one of our upcoming new member events. You’ll get a chance to meet the team, see our shop and Baja car, learn what goes into designing and building an off-road race car, and even get behind the wheel at our New Member Drive Day.

No previous Baja, automotive, machining, or racing experience is required. We’ll teach you what you need to know.

Check the post for event dates, times, and locations. If you have any questions or want to learn more, contact Jack Tarnutzer at 608-370-0694.

Ever wonder what Baja SAE actually does?

We design it. We build it. We test it. Then we race it. From CAD and suspension design to welding, machining, drivetrain work, and testing, our team takes an off-road car from an idea to competition.

You do not need any prior experience to join. If you’re interested in engineering, fabrication, racing, or just want to get more hands-on outside the classroom, come check us out.

Meetings are every Monday at 5:00 PM in Busby 107, starting 9/14. Have questions or want to get involved? Reach out anytime at 608-370-0694 or to this account.
