Lighting makes a big difference in a basement, especially when the room has more than one use.

In the theater, we wanted the lights set up so the step lights can stay on without lighting up the whole room. Same idea with the shelf lights, toe kicks, and ceiling detail. You get more control, and the room works better because of it.

A few more finish pieces and cleanup, and this parade home will be ready.

We’re quite a bit further along than this now, but we still wanted to show some of our process.

This is the stage where we start setting things up for the finish work. Priming after drywall helps protect the walls, and getting the floor heights figured out early is what gives you clean transitions once the other materials go in. Same thing with the inset lights.

Those details get handled now so the finished house looks the way it should later.

Big news, our affiliate program is officially live, and we’re pumped to finally share it.

Days like this mean a lot to us.

We have been working with the Mendenhalls for the last few months, and hearing how they felt about the process meant just as much as finally breaking ground. Building a custom home is a big decision, and we do not take it lightly when a family chooses us to help lead that process.

We are grateful they picked Kaizen, and we are excited to get this one started in American Fork.

We wanted the house to have that coastal resort look, but still keep the wood and stone front and center.

This one is going to be incredible, and we can’t wait to show you more.
