To wrap up Construction Safety Week, we want to recognize the individuals who were selected by our Safety Director and Safety Committee members to receive a Glover Safety Coin. These individuals were selected for their dedication to safety and how they lead others on their site to be safe.

Congratulations to Russell R., Raphel C., and Antonio J. for being selected as this year’s Safety Coin recipients for Construction Safety Week 2026!

On Day 4 of Construction Safety Week, our Central Virginia project was treated to a catered lunch as we came together to celebrate everyone’s continued safety efforts on the project. Throughout the week, we’ve highlighted the “Three R’s - Recognize, Respond, & Respect” each morning in our pre-job brief.

Our client, employees, and subcontractors also had the opportunity to sit in the seat of a dozer, excavator, and off-road truck to understand the visibility levels of equipment that they are not used to running. This activity correlated with the Three R’s that we worked through this week in recognizing the hazards that our coworkers may be exposed to, why and how they respond, and respecting that each and every situation is ever-evolving.

For day 2 of Construction Safety Week, we gathered at our equipment shop with our office and shop staff. We enjoyed a lunch of pork chops and sides cooked by the Glover Team!

Today's topic of discussion was about responding when a hazard is recognized. We face many hazards in our line of work and one easy thing that we can do to prevent harm is wearing safety glasses. After lunch, we had a demonstration on safety glass and showed what can actually happen when they are worn to protect our eyes from hazards.

“Safety isn’t just about reducing risk, it’s about building a culture where everyone is safe.”

The first day of Construction Safety Week is in the books! This year's theme is "All in Together. Recognize, Respond, Respect." Working with a team you trust is the most important thing on a job site and it helps keep everyone safe.

Thanks to The Catering Place for the delicious lunch that we enjoyed on our Port 460 Logistics Center project in Suffolk, VA!

"Safety is the ultimate team sport, and it's crucial that we all take ownership of our role in creating a safe environment."
