A thicker filter (2 to 5 inches) has more surface area and therefore allows more room for air to pass through. Thick filters, due to their increased surface area, also have other benefits like: Higher dust-holding ability (meaning it can catch a lot without blocking airflow). Clean or replace your furnace filter and have your heating system tuned and inspected by a service professional. Heat losses from malfunctioning or poorly-performing systems can add up – sometimes up to 2% per year. There is no need to change the furnace. The filter mounts externally so just duct work alterations which is included in price. Some applications will not apply to this price as with anything. Thicker is helpful for those who forget to change it every month. For example, a 5" filter is good for 6-12 months and much better for allergies. We can install a Trion Air Bear for $600.00 in most cases. We service and all surrounding areas.
