FATWHEELS

FATWHEELS We offer adaptive cycling equipment that enable individuals with balance issues to experience the FUN, FREEDOM & HEALTH BENEFITS of riding a bicycle.

Our Story

In 1993, our son Geordi, (Geo), was born with a developmental disability that impacted his intellect, his speech and his balance. At the age of 10, Geo still couldn't ride a two-wheeler despite many hours of practice & therapy. He needed additional help to ride independently but he didn't need the intensive support of an adaptive trike. He fell into this "gap" that no product on the mar

ket seemed to fill. That's when my husband and I discovered FATWHEELS. They were safe, easily installed, portable & affordable. We simply bolted them on his bike and in minutes he was riding around the neighborhood with the other kids! Twenty years later in 2013, our family purchased the FATWHEELS brand. It has allowed us the wonderful opportunity of connecting with others & sharing the gift of adaptive cycling. We've met families, professionals and individuals of ALL ages who have discovered for themselves, the amazing gifts of freedom, independence, health & FUN that a set of FATWHEELS can offer. www.fatwheels.com

Blind and low-vision fans now have a new way to experience the 2026 FIFA World Cup through haptic devices that let them feel the match in real time. As part of FIFA’s accessibility efforts, the technology brings fans closer to the action and makes the stadium experience more accessible. The devices simulate live matches, with units deployed in stadiums in Dallas, New York/New Jersey, Seattle, and Vancouver for select matches.

CONGRATULATIONS CHRIS! Special Olympics athlete Chris Nikic made history Saturday. He became the first person with Down syndrome to complete an Ironman triathlon! Guiness World Records recognized Nikic's achievement after he finished a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride and a 26.2-marathon run at the Ironman Florida competition in Panama City Beach. He completed the race in 16 hours 46 minutes and 9 seconds -- 14 minutes under the 17-hour cutoff time. Way to go, Chris! ❤️

Students with disabilities have the right to a free, appropriate public education. That right is protected by federal law and enforced by the U.S. Department of Education.

Right now, those protections are being threatened.

This means families could lose a place to turn when schools do not follow the law. Educators could lose access to clear guidance and experts who help them meet their students’ needs. And students with disabilities could lose the critical supports they need to succeed.

That is why we have joined a federal lawsuit to stop the dismantling of the Department of Education and defend students’ rights.

Add your name to our petition to demand that the federal government protect the educational rights of students with disabilities.
