Harris Hill Automation recently made a guest appearance in OEM Magazine, delivering insights on the critical "Retrofit vs. Replace" crossroads facing modern manufacturers. In the featured article, Retrofit or Replace: Making the Call When Machines Break Down, owner Bill Gagne highlights a pragmatic approach to the machine life cycle—emphasizing that controls modernization can secure stable production today while a parallel long-term strategy is built for future scalability.

In addition, we are leveraging 3D scanning technologies to replicate and resurrect vintage mechanical parts that lack modern digital documentation. This contribution underscores our commitment to helping our customers navigate obsolescence and reach reliability goals without the costs or downtime associated with a complete machine overhaul.

Are you struggling with the decision to retrofit or replace? Reach out today to see how we might help you be informed about options and costs.

Harris Hill Automation is excited to be exhibiting today at the Manufacturers Association of Maine 2026 Summit, connecting with industry leaders, networking, and discussing the future of manufacturing in Maine.

Big things are happening in our state, and today’s Gubernatorial Forum is a crucial piece of the puzzle. Harris Hill Automation would like to applaud the accomplishments of both of these robotics teams, which we proudly sponsor. These students invest countless hours into these projects, building so much more than technical solutions; managing the budget, schedule, and learning to work as a cohesive team. Major kudos to the staff and educators who mentor, encourage, and lead these programs.

Monmouth VEX Robotics - Team 93303G and 93303H finished the local competitions strong, achieving another chance to compete at the World Championship held in St. Louis this week!

First Robotics - Team 11131 Brainstorm, in coordination with Maine Community Robotics, competed hard and finished as part of the 3rd place alliance at the recent competition, and took home a stack of additional awards in the process.

Maine is facing a critical lag compared to the rest of the country in robotic integrations, and factories are struggling to keep production lines running due to workforce challenges. These students are the next generation of skilled engineers to transform manufacturing, deliver solutions, and bring progress to Maine manufacturing. We are honored to support their robotics journey!!
