Excited to be the Port Aransas Chamber of Commerce partner of the week!

Island Construction opened in 1962. Over the past sixty years, they have built and rebuilt over 90% of the streets in Port Aransas. They built narrow streets in the early sixties and seventies using mostly oyster shell base material. As the city grew, it evolved into multi-lane asphalt streets made with crushed concrete base material and added walkable concrete sidewalks and curb and gutter systems. The Island Construction team is proud to be a local family-owned and operated company that has been a part of these important improvements.

Island Construction has supported various nonprofit organizations, churches, and groups, both publicly and privately, for the past sixty years. They like to spread their charitable contributions throughout the community, but they strongly support the education of local youth and local first responders.

Outside of their main line of business which is street work, underground utilities, subdivision development, and heavy construction, Island Construction also offers raw material sales such as native fill sand, base materials, crushed granite, rocks, and aggregates for various construction and landscaping needs. They will also deliver those materials anywhere in Port Aransas, Mustang Island, or North Padre.
