Between the new Hive Autonomous Innovation Center in Camarillo and FATHOMWERX's ongoing work as a Tech Bridge, Ventura County is becoming a global hub for maritime and aerospace tech. FATHOMWERX sits at the center of this, bridging the gap between government and industry.

The planning phase is almost over— with only two planning meetings left it's nearly time to execute. ANTX-Coastal Trident 2026 kicks off this spring! We’re focusing on field experiments in port security, unmanned systems, and critical infrastructure protection. Stay tuned as we "expand the advantage" through technical exchange.

Locust, based out of FATHOMWERX, is facilitating the testing of autonomous drone swarms that improve port security and empower the warfighter in ways we couldn't have imagined 25 years ago. The age of autonomy is here.

James Penrose, co-founder of Locust, came to FATHOMWERX as an intern for Matter Labs. He participated in FIRST Robotics competitions throughout high school where he built up the technical knowledge and curiosity necessary to start his own company. James is an inspiring testament to the young, bright minds that FATHOMWERX helps flourish.

Throwing it back to the very beginning! Here’s a shot of the lab taking shape during the initial build-out of our metal 3D printing space, years ago. We've come a long way since then but our mission has stayed the same: connect industry, government, and academia to innovate, think differently and push the boundaries of what is possible.
