I recently had a bad review from a customer on work that was performed in 2020. The customer waited 2 years to post the pictured review on my page. I visited the customer's house in September of 2020 and October of 2020. The first visit was a 2hr service to repipe water main and replace cartridge on delta kitchen faucet, and I needed to order a cartridge for the second floor shower. The second visit I replaced the cartridge and charged 1 hour. Local supply houses did not have the cartridge. I traveled to Brentwood to get parts. I did not charge for time to get parts (approx 1-1.5hrs) plus gas.
Contacted customer today and apologized for any miscommunication and proceeded to talk about issues. I explained that her existing water main and irrigation was very crooked and I did use a level to get everything as straight as possible and that I would have had to repipe irrigation and bend water main coming out of ground to make things 100% straight.
Her reply - it’s not about that - you fixed my shower and the water is not hot enough.
My reply- I replaced the cartridge and at first you said it wasn’t hot enough so i adjusted it to your desired temp and you felt the water. I explained that anytime I adjust hot water past the factory anti-scold temp i have the customer test it and you said it’s fine.
Her reply- well I remember sticking my hand in the water and it was fine at that time. But it was just my hand and not my body, now it’s winter time and it won’t get hot enough, and I didn’t use it bc I’m recovering from an injury.
My reply- so you approved the temp how is that my fault? You could have contacted me and I would have adjusted it.
Her reply- well my husband tried to take it apart and couldn’t figure out how and said you lost parts.
My reply- Every part that was removed to replace the cartridge was reinstalled.
Her reply- well also the kitchen faucet had problems after you fixed it and we had to replace it. It was running if the handle wasn’t perfectly straight.
My reply- I recommended to replace the faucet. ( customer cuts me off)
Her reply- no you didn’t
My reply- sorry but your husband was right there. I always recommend replacing an old faucet over repair in case there are problems taking it apart. I replaced the Delta cartridge with a brand new Delta cartridge right out of the package. I explained this delta cartridge if the handle is not perfect down the middle
It will not shut off, and that I’ve seen it happen on brand new delta faucets with this same cartridge. I showed them how it worked.
I then asked, so if you had problems why didn’t you contact me I would have addressed them instead you waiting 2 years to bash me on social media?
Her reply- I didn’t bash you I expressed my opinion.
My reply- would you like me to come take a look at the issues free of charge.
Her reply- no my husband doesn’t want you in the house
My reply- ok, feel better soon, have a good day.
