Stan, did you know anything about this?
From Air Force Security Forces camera footage, colorized, 1986. In one of the biggest coverups in modern military history, a USAF Reserve Colonel named Chappy Sinclair and an 18 year old dependent named Doug Masters stole a pair of USAF F-16s and singlehandedly rescued Doug's father Colonel Ted Master, who had been wrongfully shot down in international airspace by the Bilyaian Air Force.
The Air Force was embarrassed by the actions of these heroes, but due to some fast talking by Colonel Sinclair, he convinced the Air Force to coverup the incident, which hasn't been publicized until we broke this story. As part of the deal, Colonel Sinclair and Doug Masters agreed to never talk about the incident. The USAF also admitted Doug to the Air Force Academy, despite the fact that he could barely read and couldn't pass High School Algebra, so they could "keep an eye on him." By all accounts, Doug turned into a total as***le at the Air Force Academy, and he recently retired from the Air Force and works as a consultant for defense contractors.
