What temperature does your thermostat stay on during the summer?

And the real question…

**Who in the house actually controls it?** 👀

I always find it funny when couples ask me *“What’s the best temperature to set the thermostat at?”* while looking at each other.

That’s usually when I realize this isn’t an HVAC question… it’s a **thermostat negotiation** I’m accidentally getting pulled into. 😅

Some people want **72° ❄️**
Others are trying to keep the electric bill under control at **76° 💸**

Not an AC unit — this is a whole-home dehumidifier we added in the attic.

A lot of homes around here struggle more with humidity than temperature. Even when the AC is running, the house can still feel sticky.

That’s where systems like this come in. They help pull excess moisture out of the air so the home actually feels comfortable. 💧

One thing I see homeowners struggle with all the time is remembering to change their AC filter. 😅

Honestly, I get it.

Right now I personally use a **washable filter** in my house, so I just rinse it out when it gets dirty. 💧

Before that, I actually used a **filter subscription service**. When the new filter showed up at my door, it was my reminder that it was time to change it. 📦

Simple systems like that make a big difference because a **dirty filter can restrict airflow and make your AC work a lot harder**. ❄️

If your system seems like it’s running constantly or the airflow feels weak, the **filter is always the first thing I recommend checking**.
