Myth: Closing vents in unused rooms saves money

Actually, it often does the opposite. Closing too many vents can raise pressure in the ductwork, make the system work harder, can cause grills to sweat, and sometimes even damage the blower motor over time.
Better options:
- Use a smart thermostat with room sensors
- Make sure returns aren’t blocked
- Get the system balanced if some rooms are always too hot/cold

You probably don't need your thermostat set to 68° in Florida; in August....

But seriously - I've seen homeowners spend a fortune fighting an AC system that has an airflow, ductwork, insulation, or equipment problem.

Your AC shouldn't have to run like it's training for the Olympics just to keep your house comfortable.

This heat wave is absolutely brutal. It's so hot even our sweat is sweating. Let's take a moment to thank this man, Willis Carrier. He invented air conditioning back in 1902! A true American hero for sure. What would we do without it?

Dirt, dust and debris are the number one leading causes of AC failure.

When filters become clogged, airflow is restricted and your AC has to work harder leading to excess strain on the system that can lead to costly repairs. ⚠️

A clean filter helps your system:

As a general rule, check your filter monthly and replace it every 1–3 months depending on your home, pets, and usage.
