A great way to end the week. At least for me it is. This 1996 Evolution 80" top end rebuild to OEM spec, but better and tighter than new and now ready for delivery to Sweet Homa Alabama!

Heath at H&D Cycles in Lillian will be on the assembly duty and I'm sure he will do a great and meticulous job for the customer as he always does!

+010 over bore with Wiseco forged and mandrel spun/resurfaced cylinders. Back to new specs for the heads too, with reconned Intake valves, new Kibblewhite iron guides, AV&V 218N exhaust valves and springs set up for a little stump puller AP 23 cam!

MEGABUILT quality for another 30 years of reliable trouble free service!

Groovin' on a Wednesday afternoon.

Some 1996 Evolution castings for an OEM spec'd rebuild. KPMI stock replacement style guides grooved and clipped. Then 350°F to the heads, -20°F to the guides and with the .0025" interference fit, they will drop right in positive locating at the late Evo spec of .870" above the pad. No Muss, No Fuss!

Some chill time for the heads, a cup of java for me and ready for the P190!

After 46 years of building these American V-Twin engines and cylinder heads as an independent full-time professional. I think Grandpap was right!

My E80 SS2 port and blueprint package. With Valves, Springs, Guides, CC'd and decked. Returned with a copy of the most complete blueprint assembly spec sheet in the industry and the flow test results.

My HOS cylinder head port and blueprint package for the S&S V124 engines.

60 CFM increased intake flow at peak lift and 28" test pressure realizing the maximum flow coefficient through the 1.800 diameter round port. Additional emphasis on area under the curve within the usable valve lift range, both intake and exhaust.

Concerning surface finishing. Nothing is a constant. There are NO universally applicable rules. Variation(s) per application and/or specific areas of the ductway. 46 years of working, finding and putting into practice, all those little details.

S&S Super G manifold. #60 open grain Norton with Castrol Iloform lubricant, evenly applied in a pattern which is perpendicular to the direction of air flow.

MEGABUILT.

Twin Cam 124" Short Block and a set of S&S T124 Cylinder Head castings finished to my High Output Street port/blueprint specs!

Since 1980. 100% American V-Twin engines and cylinder heads only. I never used to work in anything else!

S&S V124 Cylinder head castings.

With additional precautionary measures.

After strip, clean and prep time my High Output Street cylinder head package it starts here, with the port contour and initial surface finish and some additional steps taken to protect the polished exterior. I've been working this particular package with only a few minor tweaks since 2002, shortly after the release of the 4 1/8" bore Super Stock castings.

A little rough coming in. Not so going out.

1980 Shovelhead rebuild/reman/blueprint. Better than new and ready for another few decades of reliable service! Returned with a copy of the blueprint assembly spec sheet.

What evil lurks behind the mask of carbon?

In this case some mighty decrepit looking valve seats for this front 1980 Shovelhead casting! Sent in for a rebuild/reman, the rear head was fine; in fact, the seat depths were within .010" of new fitment specs, but this front one looked like somebody put a garden hose in an open spark plug hole before they put it in storage for a few years!

The OEM Shovelhead counterbores were dimensionally in great shape so spin up a couple of new "drop-ins" to original late HD spec's for the late model Shovelheads, Heat'em, Freeze'em, Sink'em then Rap'em down after some chill time. Definitely NOT my first rodeo here, only done it like a few thousands, if not a few 10's of thousands of times over the last 46 years, so save the advisory comments boys and girls!
