At Nova, we test for THC content because we’re legally required to do so- but none of us here believes that THC content determines the quality of the flower. We all know it’s about the entourage effect.
Generally, entourage effect is explained by terpenes.

Well what if I told you… that terpenes actually might not matter that much either?
The latest research from Abstrax suggests that the unique sensory and aromatic properties of cannabis are actually more strongly correlated with *non-terpenoid* volatile compounds- like VSC’s and esters.
They found such a strong correlation between these chemicals and the subjective experience of flavor and aroma that they created a grading system-
“The Exotic Score”.
This score grades your cannabis on how exotic it is based on the aggregate of terpenes and, importantly, non- terpenoid volatiles.
We want to know- would you be interested in shopping based on an exotic score? Producers, would you want to grade your harvests based on an exotic score?
Let us know in the comments.
