We’re excited to have had several new people join the VLMK team in recent months.

Cory Jones, EIT, recently joined VLMK Engineering + Design as a Structural Designer in the firm's Scottsdale office. A recent graduate of Arizona State University, Cory earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and graduated summa cm laude.
Cory is beginning his career in structural engineering and is excited to build upon his academic foundation while gaining experience across a variety of project types and structural systems.

Alyssa Oshiro recently joined VLMK Engineering + Design as an Architectural Designer. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture and Design from Colorado State University and brings experience in both residential and multidisciplinary design environments.
Alyssa has developed strengths in client collaboration, design visualization, and creating functional, human-centered spaces. She is passionate about developing thoughtful design solutions that positively impact the people who use them.

Eoan Tipikin joined VLMK Engineering + Design as a Structural Intern through the MECOP program. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at Portland State University, where he has chosen to focus his studies on structural engineering.
Eoan is excited to gain hands-on experience with VLMK's structural team and further develop his technical knowledge through real-world project involvement as he works toward graduating in Summer 2027.

Jack Brown recently joined VLMK Engineering + Design as a Civil Designer. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Portland in 2023 and participated in the university's CECOP program, gaining valuable experience in utility, environmental, and consulting engineering environments.
His background has provided a strong foundation in engineering design, project coordination, and problem-solving. Jack looks forward to continuing his professional development and contributing to projects across a variety of markets.

Exciting to see Drexel Commerce Center reach completion.

We're proud to have contributed to a project that transformed two shell buildings into modern, move-in-ready tenant spaces. Thank you to Epstein Construction AZ, Schnitzer Properties and the entire project team for the collaboration and hard work that helped bring this vision to life.

Looking forward to seeing the development welcome its future tenants.

Ready for Tenants ✨

We have officially completed the interior improvements at Drexel Commerce Center. What were two gray shell buildings totaling 184,000 sq. ft. have been divided into 15 individual suites, completely finished and ready for occupancy.

VLMK was proud to be a Tee Box Sponsor at the AIA Southwest Washington Golf Tournament this past Thursday. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth for snacks, drinks, swag, and a chat throughout the day. We always enjoy connecting with members of the AEC community.

A special thank you to Erica Ryon and everyone involved for organizing a fantastic event, as well as Justin Elliott, Trent Nagele, Emma Olds, PE, and Justin Kittelson, P.E. for representing VLMK at the booth. We'd also like to give a shoutout to Mohawk Metal Company for creating our cool custom ball markers.

We had a great time and look forward to next year's tournament!

VLMK brought home the trophy!

Kevin Kaplan, Ken Rust, Justin Elliott, and Tony Jenkins all had a fantastic time at the OACI/SEAO Golf Tournament and were thrilled to finish in 1st Place.

Thank you to Structural Engineers Association of Oregon (SEAO), Jane Ellsworth, and everyone involved in organizing such a great event. We enjoyed the opportunity to connect with colleagues, clients, and industry partners while spending a beautiful day on the course.

Congratulations, Havlin, on the retirement after 33 years at VLMK Engineering + Design.

We are so sad to see him go, but are incredibly thankful that he has been part of our team for so long (since 1993!). There were definitely a few tears shed, but we know he'll have a blast now that he has more time for competitive bocce.
