Take the guesswork out of irrigation with ET data 💧

The POGO Weather Station helps track Evapotranspiration (ET), measuring how much water is being lost from the soil and turf through evaporation and plant use.

Understanding ET helps you:
• Apply water more efficiently
• Reduce overwatering
• Better respond to changing weather conditions
• Improve irrigation timing and consistency

ET gives turf managers a clearer understanding of actual water demand, helping create more informed irrigation strategies throughout the season.

More precise irrigation starts with better environmental data.

Understand how environmental conditions impact playability ☀️

The Globe Temperature sensor on the POGO Weather Station helps measure radiant heat and environmental stress conditions that can affect athletes, golfers, staff, and turf performance.

By monitoring Globe Temperature, you can:
• Better understand heat stress conditions
• Evaluate field and course playability
• Support player and staff safety decisions
• Monitor how environmental heat impacts turf surfaces

Weather conditions affect more than turf health, they affect the overall experience and safety of everyone on the property.

Better environmental awareness helps support better decisions on and off the turf.

Growing Degree Days help turn temperature data into actionable turf insights 🌱

The POGO Weather Station tracks Growing Degree Days (GDD), helping you better understand how heat accumulation affects turf growth and seasonal development.

Instead of relying only on calendar dates, GDD helps you:
• Track turf growth stages more accurately
• Monitor recovery and stress periods
• Better time fertility and cultural practices
• Understand how environmental conditions are impacting development

Because turf responds to temperature, not just time, Growing Degree Days provide a more precise way to plan management decisions throughout the season.

Make more confident spray application decisions with real-time wind data 🌬️

The POGO Weather Station tracks wind speed and conditions so you can better determine when it’s safe and effective to spray.

Monitoring wind conditions helps:
• Reduce spray drift
• Improve application accuracy
• Protect surrounding areas
• Avoid wasted product and inconsistent coverage

Having reliable weather data available directly within your TurfPro workflow helps crews make smarter decisions before applications begin.

Smarter irrigation starts with accurate rainfall data 🌧️

The Rain Gauge on the POGO Weather Station monitors exactly how much rain your course or field is receiving, giving you the information needed to make more informed irrigation decisions.

With accurate rainfall tracking, you can:
• Reduce unnecessary irrigation
• Avoid overwatering and runoff
• Improve water efficiency
• Better understand how weather impacts turf conditions

When paired with your POGO soil data, rainfall monitoring helps complete the picture of what’s happening both above and below the surface.

📡 Better weather awareness leads to better turf management.

Did you know NASA has used the HydraProbe? 🛰️

NASA's Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) satellite can estimate soil moisture across the globe from space. But before that data can be trusted, it needs to be verified with measurements taken on the ground.

That process is called ground truthing, and the HydraProbe has been used to help validate SMAP's soil moisture measurements.

We're proud that the same patented HydraProbe sensor found in every POGO is trusted for research applications like this. It's one of the reasons POGO delivers research-grade, calibration-free measurements that turf professionals can rely on every day.

From validating satellite observations to helping manage golf courses and sports fields, it all starts with accurate data.

Trees are assets too 🌳

Every tree on your property tells part of its story. With the POGO Mapper, you can map and catalog trees as assets, creating a permanent digital record that's easy to update and reference over time.

Tracking trees can help with:
🌳 Planning maintenance and inspections
🌳 Identifying and documenting heritage or landmark trees
🌳 Supporting insurance and property records
🌳 Giving your team accurate locations and information in the field

Whether you're managing a golf course, sports complex, campus, or park, having important assets mapped means better organization and better long-term management.

Every asset matters. Keep them all in one place with POGO Mapper.

Mid-Season POGO Check: Inspect Your Tines & Run a Sensor Diagnostic 🔧

If you've been using your POGO throughout the season, now is a great time to give it a quick checkup.

Over time, repeated sampling can wear down the HydraProbe's marine-grade stainless steel tines. Worn tines can affect insertion depth and reduce the consistency of your measurements.

Running a Sensor Diagnostic Test only takes a few minutes and helps confirm your sensor is performing the way it should before you continue collecting valuable turf data.

If your tines are showing significant wear, replacing the sensor helps ensure you continue getting the research-grade accuracy POGO is known for.

A few minutes of maintenance today can help keep your data reliable for the rest of the season.
