Hey friends. A deeply held thought I have is this… I believe that blacksmithing is a healing force. If you are hurting or sad- come and join me at my forge. Let me show you that swinging a hammer, moving hot metal, creating… can heal. Reach out to me- and I’ll teach you about this ancient craft.

A blacksmith’s hand. Callouses - check. Blisters - check. Burns- check. Ground in coal - check. My Dad would be proud.

Today I’m finishing the texturing/aging of the timber frame of Fort Lucy - our colonial canvas tent. I wish I had like 3 more days to prepare for Blackbeard’s Pirate Festival! There’s items I won’t have time to forge. 🫤

Today I worked on aging some of the lumber for my colonial tent frame. It’s a lot of work - using my 41/2” grinder and 40 grit disk, then a burned finish with a torch. About 20 mins per board… but I really like how they are turning out!
