Reminds me of my first time breaking a flowline connection from the wellhead in West Virginia (2014). Nervous and clueless about handling such a huge sledgehammer. Workover rig hands asked from the floor, "Just how f---ing tight you want that union?" My green hat ass was hitting the fitting in the wrong direction.

I have many passions in my life ... sobriety, faith, family, service work. And also cooking, for which I've rediscovered recently. And I'm writing again as well. Today's creation is Ground Beef Curry with bacon, okra and sweet onions on a bed of couscous dressed in green onions, red onions, olive oil and garlic. All prepared oil lzpatch style, with nothing more than a large Black & Decker rice cooker.

The Oilfield Life means unitaskers are illegal, as celebrity chef Alton Brown had professed for years. This morning, I prepared scrambled eggs with black forest ham and gouda cheese in 10 minutes, using only a 5-year-old Black & Decker rice cooker and a silicone spatula. I've cooked pasta & sauce, stews, soups, even hefty stir-fry dishes in this multipurpose kitchen appliance. And the cooker is still very affordable today, as a similar model can be purchased for about $20 at Walmart.

Want to know why energy still costs so much more than when Donald Trump was in office? It's not because we are producing less oil & gas; it's because the exploration & production costs skyrocketed in the wake of the ScamDemic so viciously thrust upon the world.

Per Oilprice.com on Monday, July 10 ...

"The Energy Information Administration has reported that U.S. crude oil production is on track to set a record this year, up 9% Y/Y through April. EIA has forecast total U.S. output will hit 12.61M bbl/day in the current year, above the previous record of 12.32M bbl/day set in 2019 and easily beating last year's 11.89M bbl/day."

Before Covid-19, the United States economy was roaring, unemployment was at historic lows and personally, every dollar I sweated and bled for in West Texas was providing more per unit for my family than in the previous 8 years of Obama rule.
