Presence no longer has to mean putting crews on the front line.

Our predecessors tried to solve the MCM problem by moving faster through the threat envelope. Chris Gibson and Eric Wirstrom, experts at VideoRay, propose something different: platforms like the Mission Specialist Wraith that enable autonomous, over-the-horizon MCM—clearing threats without having to be there at all.

Read more about how AV is clearing mines faster, safer, and from farther away than ever before. https://www.avinc.com/2026/05/11/the-strait-of-hormuz-is-showing-us-why-mine-countermeasures-must-evolve-for-a-contested-maritime-fight/
