What started as an old, worn-out screened-in back patio has been completely transformed into a beautiful, fully enclosed living space that the homeowners can enjoy throughout every season.

This project required much more than simply replacing windows. We completely removed the existing screened enclosure and rebuilt the space to create a solid, permanent addition to the home. Our team installed all-new structural framing to strengthen the enclosure before finishing it with brand-new steel siding on both the interior and exterior. New wall sheeting was also installed where needed to provide a solid foundation for the finished surfaces, resulting in a structure that is built for long-term durability while maintaining a clean, finished appearance.

To maximize natural light and create an open, welcoming atmosphere, we installed four brand-new 4-foot-tall by 3-foot-wide energy-efficient windows along with a new full-glass exterior door. These large windows completely changed the feel of the space, flooding the room with natural light while providing beautiful views of the backyard and creating a bright, open atmosphere throughout the day.

A great addition to this remodel was replacing the original outswing screened patio door with a new inswing full-glass exterior door. The original door opened outward, which became a constant frustration during Wyoming winters as snow would drift and pile up against it, often preventing the homeowners from opening the door without first shoveling the snow away. By redesigning the entry and installing an inswing door, the homeowners now have reliable access to the room regardless of snow accumulation outside. The inswing design provides a more practical, user-friendly entrance that is better suited for Wyoming's climate and makes the space much more enjoyable to use throughout the year.

While we understand that an inswing exterior patio door is not as resistant to wind-driven rain and snow as a traditional outswing door, this room was designed as an enclosed patio rather than the home's primary exterior entrance. After discussing the options with the homeowners, this design proved to be the best solution for the way they use the space. Our goal is always to provide practical, long-lasting solutions that meet each customer's specific needs, and in this case, everyday convenience and year-round functionality were the highest priorities.

In addition to the patio transformation, we also built and installed a custom set of interior steps between the kitchen and laundry room to improve the flow and accessibility within the home. The original setup consisted of a single step, which was less convenient for everyday use and did not provide the most comfortable transition between the two rooms. Our new staircase creates a more natural, stable, and secure means of access while blending seamlessly with the home's interior.

The staircase was also designed with future maintenance in mind. Rather than permanently fastening it in place, we built it to be fully removable, allowing a plumber easy access to the hot water heater located beside the steps whenever servicing or replacement is needed. It's another example of how thoughtful planning can improve a home's functionality while making future maintenance easier and more cost-effective for the homeowner.

Another improvement completed during this remodel was replacing the old crawlspace access cover with a custom-built steel hatch. The original wooden cover had become waterlogged over the years, making it extremely heavy and difficult to lift whenever access to the crawlspace was needed. It had also begun to deteriorate, leaving the homeowners dealing with splinters and a cover that was no longer practical for everyday use. We fabricated and installed a custom steel hatch that provides a much stronger, longer-lasting solution while eliminating the issues associated with the old wood cover. The new steel hatch offers dependable access to the crawlspace, is built to withstand Wyoming's weather, and gives the homeowners a cleaner, safer, and virtually maintenance-free solution for years to come.

Every part of this remodel was completed with careful attention to detail. From framing and weatherproofing to the installation of the new windows, door, steel siding, finish materials, custom interior staircase, and fabricated steel crawlspace hatch, every component was installed to ensure the finished work blended seamlessly with the existing home. The result is a home that is not only more beautiful, but also more functional, comfortable, and built with the homeowners' long-term needs in mind.

We had the opportunity to install a new 6-foot white vinyl privacy fence, complete with two walk gates and a 10-foot double drive gate featuring a removable center post for added strength and stability.

As part of this project, we also performed a full tear-out of the existing fence, which had been standing for more than 30 years. One of the best parts of this project was that the old fence materials didn't go to waste. Instead, they were donated to local crafters who plan to repurpose and transform the materials into something new. We always enjoy seeing materials get a second life whenever possible.

After removing the old fence, we spread the excavated dirt along the old fence line at the homeowner's request, helping to blend the area back into the landscape and leave the site looking clean and finished.

In addition, we installed a custom egress window cover located next to one of the walk gates. Because of its location, the cover provides an important safety feature by helping prevent people, pets, or other objects from accidentally falling into the window well while still allowing access to the egress window when needed.

The new vinyl fence was designed to provide privacy, security, and long-term durability while maintaining a clean, attractive appearance. The removable center post allows the double gate to open fully when needed while still providing the additional support necessary to keep the gate system strong and properly aligned over time.

From demolition to final installation, every step of the project was completed with a focus on quality craftsmanship, safety, attention to detail, and long-lasting results. The finished fence and egress cover provide both beauty and functionality, giving the property a fresh new look while improving safety and security for years to come.

A special thank you goes to Roveena Signs & Design for creating the beautiful new sign. Their work helped bring a fresh, polished look to the business, and we were happy to assist with the installation and final setup.

We had the opportunity to help this returning customer with a small project by replacing their mailbox.

While it may seem like a simple upgrade, a properly installed mailbox helps improve both the appearance and functionality of a property. We removed the old mailbox and installed the new one, making sure everything was securely set and ready for years of everyday use.

We truly appreciate the continued support from our returning customers and are grateful for every opportunity, big or small, to help improve their homes and properties. Thank you for trusting Wyo wood and steel with another project!

We had the opportunity to work on this beautiful home, with much more still to come in the future!

We started by giving the exterior a fresh update, wrapping the old, tired-looking 4x4 posts with new white post wraps. During the project, we found that one of the existing porch posts had warped and twisted over time, making it difficult to properly install the post wraps. Rather than covering up the issue, we replaced the post entirely. Not only did this make the installation process much easier, but it was also the proper way to ensure the porch remained structurally sound and looked its best for years to come.

To finish off the yard, we installed railroad ties as landscape edging. This required hand digging to achieve the proper grade and fit, allowing us to seamlessly tie into the existing railroad ties and create a clean, continuous border. The finished result helps define the landscape while adding a durable, rustic touch that complements the property.

It's often the details behind the scenes that make the biggest difference, and taking the time to do things the right way is what we strive for on every project. We're excited to continue helping bring this homeowner's vision to life and look forward to sharing the next phases of the project.

Another remodel completed by Wyo Wood and Steel!

This project included a complete interior transformation designed to update both the appearance and functionality of the home, along with several exterior improvements. We performed a full carpet and pad tear-out, removed all existing trim, and demolished an office closet to create a more open and functional workspace.

New laminate flooring was installed in the office and master bedroom, while brand-new carpet was installed throughout the living room, hallway, and spare bedroom. To add a unique custom touch, we incorporated custom brass transition trim at two flooring transitions, creating a clean, high-end finish between floor coverings.

The office also received a major upgrade with a new set of custom-built cabinets, providing additional storage, improved organization, and a professional look tailored specifically to the space. New trim was installed throughout the remodeled areas, tying everything together with crisp lines and a polished finish.

Outside, we installed a new metal roof over an existing covered porch, giving the structure renewed protection and a finished appearance while improving its durability against Wyoming weather. We also fabricated and installed a custom grill cover structure, creating a dedicated covered area for outdoor cooking and entertaining.

From demolition to final installation, every aspect of this project was completed with attention to detail, quality craftsmanship, and long-term durability in mind. The finished result is a completely refreshed property featuring beautiful new flooring, custom cabinetry, updated trim work, a newly roofed porch, custom grill cover, and premium finishing details throughout.

Whether you're looking for flooring, trim work, custom cabinetry, outdoor structures, roofing, or a complete home remodel, Wyo Wood and Steel is ready to help bring your vision to life.

Wyo Wood and Steel’s latest kitchen remodel is a perfect blend of craftsmanship, functionality, and refined detail. This project features a complete transformation, including new cabinetry, updated flooring, custom trim work, and a beautifully installed tiled backsplash that ties the entire space together.

A true standout element of this remodel is the restored farm table and custom butcher block countertop. The farm table was carefully resurfaced to bring it back to life, highlighting its original character while giving it a smooth, durable finish built for everyday use. Paired with the custom butcher block countertops, these natural wood features add warmth, depth, and a timeless feel that anchors the entire kitchen.

We were also able to preserve a piece of the home the customer truly loved by reusing the original countertops. To make this possible, we carefully ordered and configured the new cabinetry to match the existing layout precisely, ensuring everything fit back together seamlessly. Extra care was taken during the uninstall process to prevent any damage, and the countertops were reinstalled with precision to maintain their integrity while blending perfectly into the updated space.

For a truly unique and elegant detail, custom brass trim was incorporated around the brick, adding a clean, high-end accent that highlights this feature and brings a refined touch to the overall design.

We also transformed an old, underutilized pantry into a fully functional space designed to match the new cabinetry, creating a seamless and cohesive look throughout the kitchen. Alongside it, a new closet space was added, complete with a custom-built door crafted to match the cabinets, tying both storage areas perfectly into the overall design.

As with every Wyo Wood and Steel project, this remodel was completed with a focus on quality, durability, and attention to detail—delivering a space that is not only beautiful, but built to last.
