Wondering why certain things are more expensive right now? Simply put, it's supply and demand. The pandemic reduced demand for certain goods so much that business closed or reduced headcount and operations to levels they had not done before. However, now that the world has a better understanding of how to deal with Covid-19 and the economy is ramping up with returning demand, businesses are scrambling to produce and meet that demand.

We wanted to take some time to address AGC and the Grassmann family’s commitment to charities and other philanthropic foundations.

A great friend of our family asked Scott to sign up for this bicycle ride event. The event raises money, which goes to programs and research working to eliminate Multiple Sclerosis from our world. At the time, we had no personal ties with the disease; but Scott signed up, raised money (many of you reading this donated, thank you!), and completed the 100+ mile ride. It was a life changing event, and hopefully will continue to be for many more years. If you would like to learn more about the event, our involvement or how to donate, contact us!

With closing of several refineries due to COVID-19 last year, could demand for oil and gas surpass the supply, driving prices even higher?

Here's an interesting article on how supply and demand drives the price of gas in the US. We are currently facing issues with the capacity or capability to manufacture and supply gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel for transportation demands, and with refineries, such as Shell Convent, closing during the pandemic and other refineries in the conversion process from conventional oil refining to biodiesel refining, demand may surpass supply driving prices even higher.

The oil industry, known for boom-bust cycles, is resisting the temptation to pump more oil — for now.
