Prep for the back patio. We love love how the finish of this turned out. We added a RV drain to the septic design so the owner would always have an easy experience at home after a weekend at their favorite mountain waterway. Below is a section of flat work on the opposite side of the home. By getting this installed now and right the rainwater will run where it is intended to go—away from the home. There are a few ways to accomplish and I like this method a lot.

One of our responsibilities is to do things ethically and legally. I hear a lot, “oh we want to avoid getting a permit” or “we are outside the city” or “they never check”.

In many cases the permits are under $100. In more situations they are under $200. Sure a million dollar home is a bit more. But this quarter I customer learned they didn’t legally have any water rights to their home because their well wasn’t registered. (The cost to buy more water in that area of you can find it? $10000-$30000 the cost to file it right under $110. I would like to thank the state agent publicly that found that. But I don’t want to embarrass anyone.

For example to remove a building and get a permit for asbestos is about a grand. The fine to do it wrong by the federal government??? $10000 per person or infraction per day.

When one of our team bought a residence in 1999 it was held up for two weeks because the previous owners HAD done everything right but the office of the recorder or their affiliates never filed everything properly. The expert at the title company (with three decades experience too) caught that quickly and had it ironed out even faster.

Our professional experience is when it’s done right in the beginning it’s a lot faster in the end. And also the end is transferrable. In other words, if you build a home or building you can actually sell it to the next person.

Back to what I hear each month during my work. In our opinion, if no one checks from the (insert the authorive body here) it is all the more reason the tiny fee is a great route to go.
