Most custom homes are designed around the people who live there.

This Prineville, Oregon one (we call Lot 31) was designed around the cats, too.

What started as a custom cat wall became a fully integrated part of the home. The climbing shelves begin in the foyer and continue into the dining area, creating a pathway that winds throughout the house. Built-in cat doors connect rooms, cabinet details double as climbing access points, and multiple litter box stations are concealed within custom cabinetry and vented directly to the exterior.

Every detail was thoughtfully incorporated into the design so the cats have their own spaces without sacrificing the architecture or aesthetics of the home.

It's one of the most unique custom features we've built, and a perfect example of what makes a truly custom home different.

Leland Rd. custom shop is officially underway in Oregon City.

This custom shop build is designed with oversized garage space, a mezzanine, gathering room, covered deck, and outdoor fireplace — built to function as more than just a shop.

Right now, framing is just getting started, but this is the phase where the scale of the structure and layout really begin to take shape.

We’ll be sharing the full process as this Oregon custom shop comes together from the ground up.

Lot 31 in Prineville, Oregon is starting to take shape in a big way.

Lap siding installation is now underway, exterior trim details are being laid out, and the full window package is in. The combination of warm wood soffits, dark framed glass, and long rooflines is giving this home a clean modern Northwest look that feels connected to the landscape around it.

Deck framing is also progressing across the rear of the home, creating a large indoor-outdoor living space that ties directly into the oversized window walls and sliding glass doors. You can already see how much natural light this home is going to bring in once finished.

A lot of the work happening right now is precision work. Layouts. Blocking. Beams. Trim details. The kind of things that completely change how a home feels when it’s finished, even if most people never see this stage.

Prineville, Oregon custom home build update: exterior details are starting to define the character of this build.

Exterior trim layout is underway, lap siding is going on, and the material palette is finally starting to come together. The mix of natural wood tones, dark window packages, and clean horizontal lines is giving this home the modern Northwest feel it was designed for.

At the same time, deck work continues to expand the outdoor living areas, creating multiple spaces that connect directly back to the home through large windows and sliding glass doors.

This is the stage where the house starts shifting from a construction site into architecture.

One of the smartest parts of this modern European custom home build isn’t a finish or feature… it’s the layout.

The entire primary suite is separated from the kids wing, creating a quiet retreat filled with natural light, vaulted ceilings, and oversized casement windows.

This is the Katie Ln. project by Brothers Building in Oregon.
