SEWER CONSTRUCTION UPDATE FOR WEEK ENDING 10/30/26

For the week starting Monday October 26th the RBO crew installed 100 feet of pipe and 6 stubs on Winslow Street.

On Monday November 2nd and Tuesday November 3rd there will be two RBO crews working on sewer. The first crew will be on Jerome Smith Road working towards Alden Street doing test pits. The second crew will be on Winslow Street on Monday doing pipe testing and on Tuesday they will move to Route 6 Westbound for branch clearing in preparation for transmission line installation. On Wednesday they will drop back to one crew and they will be doing sewer line installation on Jerome Smith Road from Winslow Street to Alden Street. The detour that has been in place on Winslow Street will stay in place and you should still enter via Bradford Street and exit thru the monument parking lot. Jerome Smith Road between Winslow and Alden will be closed for that work as well and you should expect detours around that area. There will be multiple police details in place to assist motorists.

For the look ahead, once the RBO crew will continue its work on Jerome Smith Road between Winslow Street and Alden Street and after that we expect paving operations to start on both Winslow Street and Jerome Smith Road.

SEWER SCHEDULE CHANGE MONDAY AM ONLY

On Monday morning, October 26, the Robert B Our team will be tapping the water main on Winslow Street in the area of the monument entrance. This work will start at 7 AM and last only a few hours. During this work if you need to get to the Provincetown school, you can enter via Bradford Street. If you need to get to the VMCC you will need to enter via Jerome Smith Road. Once this water main work is complete, all traffic will need to enter via Bradford Street.

SEWER CONSTRUCTION UPDATE FOR WEEK ENDING 10/23/26

For the week starting Monday October 19th the RBO crew installed 75 feet of pipe and two stubs on Winslow Street.

Starting Monday October 26th the RBO crew will be working on Winslow Street installing sewer stubs. This work will start at the VMCC end of Winslow Street and work towards Jerome Smith Road. This work is expected throughout the first week of November. Jerome Smith Road is open, but Winslow Street will still be closed during the day. Work will start at 7am and end at 4pm daily and will involve full road closures. You must plan ahead for parking as well as entering or exiting your property during working hours. For those of you who need to get to the school or the community center, please enter Winslow Street from Bradford Street. You will need to exit through the monument parking lot.

For the look ahead, once the RBO crew is done on Winslow Street they will move to Jerome Smith Road. That work will be between Winslow Street and Alden Street. We will have more updates on that in the following weeks.

WINSLOW STREET SEWER UPDATE.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the work planned at the entrance of the VMCC for Monday 10/19 and Tuesday 10/20 needs to be moved to Wednesday 10/21 and Thursday 10/22. Crews will be installing a pit right at the entrance and traffic will only have small entrance and exit to the building during working hours (7am – 4pm). You should plan for delays getting in and out of the VMCC on both days.

SEWER CONSTRUCTION UPDATE FOR WEEK ENDING 10/16/26

For the week starting Monday October 12th the RBO crew installed 100 feet of pipe and three stubs on Winslow Street. Crews are off Jerome Smith Road and will continue on Winslow Street now for the duration.

On Monday October 19th and Tuesday October 20th, the RBO crew will be working on Winslow Street right at the VMCC entrance. You will only be able to enter the parking lot from the Monument side of Winslow Street. There will be a police detail there to assist with traffic. For the rest of the week and continuing through the rest of October the RBO crew will be on Winslow Street installing stubs. This work will start at the VMCC end of Winslow Street and work towards Jerome Smith Road. Jerome Smith Road is open, but Winslow Street will still be closed during the day. Work will start at 7am and end at 4pm daily and will involve full road closures. You must plan ahead for parking as well as entering or exiting your property during working hours. For those of you who need to get to the school or the community center, please enter Winslow Street from Bradford Street. You will need to exit through the monument parking lot.

Starting Tuesday October 13th (they will not be working the holiday) and continuing through the end of October the RBO crew will be working on Winslow Street. Jerome Smith Road is now open, but Winslow Street will still be closed during the day. Work will start at 7am and end at 4pm daily and will involve full road closures. You must plan ahead for parking as well as entering or exiting your property during working hours. For those of you who need to get to the school or the community center, please enter Winslow Street from Bradford Street. You will need to exit through the monument parking lot.

INDIGENOUS PEOPLES DAY SCHEDULE

On Monday October 12th the Department of Public Works will be closed in observance of Indigenous Peoples Day. For those of you who have Monday trash and recycling pickup, your pickup will be on Tuesday October 13th. Keep in mind the Sanitation crew will be doing a double route this day so your pickup may be later than usual. Please be patient. The Transfer Station will be open on Monday October 12th but only from 7am to 10:30am so please plan accordingly.

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE DAY!

The last of the three HHW days will be held this Saturday, October 3, 2026. This third event will be held at the Provincetown transfer station at 90 Race Point Road. The event starts at 9 AM and ends at noon. Proof of Provincetown residency will be required. Thank you.
