New Can Company is looking for a self-motivated Maintenance Technician/Operator to join our team and who can work in a fast-paced environment out of our Pulaski, VA facility.

Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, presses, and production machines, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications.
Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventative maintenance techniques, monitoring compliance.
Fabricates repaid parts by using machine ship instrumentation and equipment.
Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt
Conserve’s maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Provides mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, establishing personal networks.
Qualifications/Requirements:

1-2 years of previous maintenance experience required
High School/GED preferred
PLC trouble shooting and repair preferred

This position can be full time or part time "on call". Fulltime position would be working and assisting in the plant when you are not diving. Part time "on call" would be just driving the truck. We have 2+ weekly trips to NC, the occasional local trip, and weekly/biweekly trips to Ohio. No CDL required and no overnights.
