Where the name comes from
The name is simple, it is the combination of 2 great men who inspired us and we pay homage to their memories...Carl and Woody.
Carl is Robert’s Dad (Nick’s Gramps), a chef by trade but the man who could fix anything and spent his life tinkering. His ranch in NM boasted a 40x80 ft building with a second floor filled to the roof with gadgets, tools, parts, relics...you name it, he had it! Standing at his workbench looking up you would feast your eyes on jars of all sizes filled attached by lids screwed to the floor above with bolts, nuts, screws, gaskets, and other small items. The best part was that he knew exactly what he had and where it was...a trait his son inherited.
Woody is Jamie’s Dad (Nick’s Grandpa) and was a seasoned sheet metal fabricator with over 40 years in the field. He could literally build anything you could imagine and create the most beautiful birdhouses made of copper. As his daughter of course I would mention the artistic bend to his talent, and fail to mention that he was part of the team who laid the original gold leaf on the dome of the Iowa Capital Building in Des Moines, IA. As a veteran trademan he always took time to teach those coming up in the field and selflessly gave to local charities.
Although both men are now gone, their memories and talents live on in their children and grandchildren. We hope to honor them both with our creations!
