We recently completed a project, and as it unfolded, I was really excited to post about this one. This project fell on our 13th anniversary which seemed very fitting. The very first job we did 13 years prior, was a very similar remodel to an old building, just on a much smaller scale. This was the third bank we have done for this customer, the other two were new construction. The customer had ideas on what they wanted, but unlike most commercial jobs, no definitive plans. We were able to work with them and the general contractor to take their ideas and turn it into a 3D rendering, then to reality. Making this one of the largest design build jobs we’ve done. We had so many people stop, call, and text us complementing the updates and we are so appreciative of that! Unfortunately as with any change, there was some negative feedback as well. Because of that negativity, we really debated on whether or not to make a post. After thinking about the negative comments, I really think the majority of it may be because people may be a bit misinformed. While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and we respect that. I thought I would take the opportunity to clear the air about a few things. Maybe turn some negatives into positives. First, the time and temp sign is planned to go back up. That part of the job, as well as some other details, (like the flood marker), haven’t been completed yet. The other complaint was not keeping the building historical. The previous remodel was done about 70 years ago, and was a pretty big change from the original. While this building does not fall into the historical district, the owner did approach the historical society with their intentions. The historical society made recommendations, and they were incorporated into the present design. Thank you to Hannibal National Bank, and Bleigh construction for trusting us with yet another one of your projects. Thank you to the community for bearing with us throughout the construction. We really enjoyed this project, and appreciate everyone’s continued support!
