Sunrock Industries is proud to highlight our ongoing work on Persimmon at Cates Creek, a multi-family residential development located in Hillsborough, North Carolina. Our Contracting team plays a major role in this project, being constructed for EMJ as the general contractor. Sunrock’s scope of work for the Persimmon project includes erosion control measures, as well as clearing and grading.

In addition to this, we are installing all underground utilities, storm water, sanitary sewer, and domestic water. Sunrock Industries will also be performing the concrete curb and sidewalk work, along with all of the paving operations. We have enjoyed working on this project and look forward to the completion of Persimmon at Cates Creek.

In the spring of 2012 longtime customer Barrett, Irvin & Jordan joined Sunrock as its Contracting Division, focusing on public works, asphalt paving, resurfacing projects, and heavy highway reconstruction. Sunrock’s Contracting team is our fastest growing division and currently has more than 250 team members.

Due to the distinctive colors of our stone, Sunrock’s trap rock became the desired aggregate for exposed concrete at Duke University's campus in Durham, North Carolina.

Duke was built in 1892 and follows strict construction requirements to maintain the traditional, natural beauty of the campus known to its students as “Gothic Wonderland.” Our trap rock is listed in Duke’s specifications for all outdoor exposed concrete applications, including sidewalks, driveways and pavement.
