After 6 incredible years, the Carolina Perfusion Symposium has come to a close. 💙

What started with a COVID-cancelled launch in 2020 turned into six straight years of successful, fun, and educational symposiums for our perfusion community.

A heartfelt thank you to the Palmetto State Perfusion Society, our presenters, vendors, attendees, and the Marriott staff who helped keep this symposium strong year after year. It wouldn't have been possible without you.

While CPS won’t be persisting in its current state, stay tuned and follow Integration Health for future training opportunities and conferences. Thank you all for an amazing run!

Did you know that some biocompatible tubing surfaces may affect more than blood compatibility?

Published research has shown that certain biocompatible tubing required nearly 30% less force to separate from a connector compared with standard PVC tubing.

That raises an interesting question for perfusionists:Have you noticed more tubing-to-connector movement, loosening, or “blow-offs” with newer circuit materials?

There are many factors that can contribute to a disconnection—including connector design, tubing size, securing technique, pressure, and circuit configuration—but tubing characteristics may be another factor worth considering.
