Today, we recognize Juneteenth, marking June 19, 1865, when the last enslaved African Americans in the United States learned they were finally free. It’s a moment to honor their resilience and reflect on its significance in US history.

Earlier this week, our Black Employee Advisory Consortium (BEACON) hosted a global Lunch & Learn, “Freedom to Innovate: Bridging Gaps & Building Inclusivity through AI and Access,” with leaders Kasey Boynton and Justin King from Sanofi. The discussion explored the real cost of missing representation — including regulatory, scientific and commercial risks — and highlighted compelling case studies demonstrating the economic impact.

Parexel is committed to advancing patient access to clinical trials so all patients have the opportunity to benefit from life-changing treatments and to ensure the generalizability of results across all patient populations.

As we commemorate Juneteenth, we honor the past and reaffirm our commitment to a more inclusive future for the patients and communities we serve.

A better future for clinical trials starts with asking one simple question: "What should change by 2030?"

Four Parexel colleagues shared what they’d improve about clinical trials within the next four years, offering practical ideas around sustainability, access, data and continuity between trial phases.

Despite holding diverse roles and living in different countries, they're united by one shared goal: a better future for clinical research.

We'll be back with another round of next week! Stay tuned for more employee perspectives. 💡

One question. Global perspectives.

“If you could improve one thing about clinical trials by 2030, what would it be?” We asked Parexel colleagues across teams, regions and roles – and their answers point to a clear message: the future of clinical research demands a new standard.

With trial complexity increasing, the regulatory landscape ever-changing and AI advancements accelerating how we work, it’s time to reimagine what’s possible.

This is just the start. Watch for a sneak peek and stay tuned as we dive into full from the team over the coming weeks. 💡

🗓️ June is Myasthenia Gravis Awareness Month.

At Parexel, we're dedicated to accelerating life-changing treatments for patients with rare diseases like myasthenia gravis (MG). The key to getting much needed medicines into the hands of rare disease patients is understanding their unique challenges and designing trials accordingly.

𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄? MG is a rare autoimmune disease in which antibodies block signals from the brain to muscles, causing extreme fatigue and profound weakness that can impact seeing, swallowing, walking and even breathing. While anyone can be diagnosed with MG regardless of age, race or gender, the exact cause remains unknown.

That's why our work matters. We understand the urgency—and we're dedicated to getting life-changing treatments to patients faster. Learn more about MG here: https://brnw.ch/21x3aUN

What if patients could unlock rare disease research by asking the right question up front? One patient community did.

The US-based International Rett Syndrome Foundation (IRSF) asked sponsors what it would take for them to invest in Rett syndrome research. After learning it would require resources like patient registries and scientific advisory infrastructure, the Rett community built those resources from the ground up.

Now, there are 25+ companies researching Rett syndrome treatments.

In an article from Pink Sheet, Gvantsa Kvantaliani, Associate Director, Rare Diseases at Parexel, founder of Georgia's first patient-led rare disease organization and board member for Rett Syndrome Europe, spoke about the profound impact of patient involvement saying, "Such examples move the discussion beyond calls to 'let’s please involve' patient advocates in drug research to recognizing how they can actively drive progress."
