Our mission is to create an integrated ecosystem - to engage, attract, and support women in STEM in their careers, educations, and personal pursuits.

Organizations thrive with greater gender diversity — enjoying greater productivity, less volatility, improved employee and customer satisfaction, and higher financial returns. Yet women are often underrepresented in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields. The Triangle is nationally recognized for its high value STEM workforce. Transcending the constraints of the past, these trailblazers rewrite narratives and reclaim spaces that once seemed out of reach. Inspired by this spirit of resilience and empowerment, we're thrilled to present the "STEM Sparkle & Sip Soiree” - an evening of intentional networking and community.

As we celebrate the energy and elevation of all women in STEM, we extend a heartfelt invitation to everyone, regardless of background or identity. All are welcome to join us in this celebration. Set against the sophisticated theme of Black, White, and Silver, dress in what empowers, embodies, and elevates you.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to help engage and inspire the next generation of young leaders in STEM at our annual Girl Scouts STEM Day @ Duke University on Saturday, May 20th, 2023. Approximately 250 middle and high school students will convene on Duke’s beautiful & historic campus for a day of hands-on STEM workshops and mentoring.

While February has been identified as the month we celebrate Black History, we should celebrate African American history, perseverance, and accomplishments yearlong. Triangle Women in STEM would like to recognize and honor the contributions of some Black women in STEM, past and present.

Understanding our history and how the past affects the present can be a building block for meaningful growth and change in the future.

Two weeks ago, Triangle Women in STEM participated in the Waccamaw Siouan STEM Day. We enjoyed learning, experimenting, and connecting with the students and their families. Thank you to the community for your hospitality (those hotdogs...yum!)!

A huge thank you to Ashley Lomboy, Waccamaw Siouan STEM Studio Founder, for inviting us into your community and Sondra Rivers-Kobler, TriWiSTEM Steering Committee Member & STEM K-12 Action Team Leader, for your hard work behind the scenes in organizing volunteers and activities.
