We made it up to Top Shelf in Spearfish this week to replace a pad with top shelf concrete! Customers original patio was a 10x10 and started off at the red line in the first photo. Over 3 years it had sank 5 inches and made water run into the foundation.
As you can see in the other photos there was a huge void underneath which typically means whoever poured it before poured on top of snow/ice/mud and not using the proper material to pack down allowing the pad to move and break.
We pinned into the customers foundation with rebar so it won't sink again, added another 10 feet on with radius to be a 10x20, used proper grading material so there will be no more voids underneath, and moved it back to where it was supposed to be with proper slope!
Job well done! Can't wait to get back up to the northern hills to produce more beautiful concrete work!
