**** REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE AND WATER IS RESTORED. A BOIL WATER NOTICE IS IN EFFECT ****

RAWA is currently repairing a main break in the 200 block of Chapel Terrace. A boil water notice will be in effect for the 36 properties affected. Notices will be given to those properties.

Please avoid this area while the crew is working on the repairs.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL CUSTOMERS

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has place Berks County under a Drought Warning. The Reading Area Water Authority is issuing a Voluntary Water Conservation Notice for all customers. A voluntary 10-15% water use restriction is requested at this time. Nonessential water use is prohibited during this restriction.

The following are prohibited: watering of lawns and outdoor areas; watering golf courses; washing vehicles, paved surfaces or other outdoor areas, filling or topping off of pools; and serving water in eating places unless specifically requested.

We will inform you when the restriction are lifted, and greatly need and appreciate your support

With the cold weather that we are experiencing, we are seeing more main breaks due to the freezing ground temperatures. Please be patient if you happen to experience this. Our crews are out doing what they do best. It is cold and they are working as fast as possible to restore any water interruptions.

Someone clearly got the memo and saw our pantry needs list at the top of our page—because they supplied EVERYTHING on the list and more! That truck is filled to the brim! 🚚
This is what community looks like. RAWA is IN this community. They see the need. They know what it means to respond. We are so grateful for partners who show up in such a powerful way!

Lead Abatement Campaign Week of August 12- 15, 2025

Starting August 12 through August 15 RAWA will be conducting a knocking campaign throughout the City of Reading along with representatives from GLO (Get The Lead Out).

These representatives will all have badges along with a letter signed by the Executive Director indicating the project. This project is to gather information from every home in the RAWA Distribution service area showing the homes water lines are Lead Free. All of this is done at no cost to customers.

In recent weeks, it was brought to the public's attention of a "scam" in the Mt. Penn area, where people were knocking on doors attempting entry. We want the public to be aware of this project and know it is being conducted by RAWA and GLO Representatives.
