Essential RV Battery Storage & Pre-Trip Power Checklist

Proper battery storage and power management make the difference between a seamless departure and a dead system on your next trip. Whether you’re parking your rig between weekend getaways or prepping for off-season storage, follow this guide to protect your battery bank and maximize system performance.
Short-Term Storage (Between Trips)

• Charge to 100%: Make a full charge your
immediate first step when returning from a trip.

• Plug In: Connect to a charger if your system sits idle for more than 48 hours.

• Verify Power Sources: Confirm active input from solar, shore power, or your vehicle alternator.

• Monitor Live Data: Track real-time battery voltage and State of Charge (SOC) via the Expion360 SmartTalk™ or VictronConnect app.
Long-Term Storage (Off-Season)

• Target 50% SOC: Store lithium batteries at approximately 50% state of charge rather than fully charged or completely depleted.
