We are proud to announce that United Construction has been awarded the construction of the new Lander County Fire Station and EMS Services Facility in Battle Mountain, NV.

UCC will deliver a 28,000-square-foot facility on four acres, designed to provide local firefighters and emergency medical staff with modern, state-of-the-art resources to serve the community for decades to come. When complete, the facility will house both fire and EMS services and feature office, training, and support spaces, apparatus and emergency vehicle bays, a vehicle and apparatus wash bay, and residential quarters—enhancing emergency response capabilities throughout the region.

This project represents a significant investment in the safety, health, and resilience of the Battle Mountain and Lander County community. The construction of the project is scheduled to be approximately 12 months. Clearing of the site is officially complete, and our crews have placed and compacted approximately 17,000 cubic yards of import across the site. Our team is now moving into the next phase, preparing for footings and utility placement.

For United Construction, this is more than a project—it’s an opportunity to showcase our diverse capabilities as a Nevada-based builder and reaffirm our role as a trusted partner. We are honored to once again work with Lander County, following the successful delivery of the Sheriff’s Office project in 2019. We remain committed to strengthening Nevada communities through the meaningful work we build.

We honor and congratulate Chuck Brown, Superintendent, on his well-earned retirement after an extraordinary 45-year career with United Construction.

Chuck began his journey with us as a laborer, working his way through the ranks to become a superintendent on some of our largest and most complex industrial projects — including LogistiCenter at 395 (a 1.2M SF industrial park), Freeman Decorating Services in Las Vegas, LogistiCenter at Kiley Ranch, and Park at McCarran Buildings 2 & 3.

Known for his ability to lead subcontractors, keep projects on schedule, and maintain a clean, safe, quality-controlled environment, Chuck is a true craftsman at heart. But it’s not just his expertise that made him such a valuable member of Team United — it’s his ever-present smile and positive attitude that made everyone enjoy being around him. Chuck has always brought a sense of calm, humor, and optimism to the jobsite, setting the tone for collaboration and teamwork.

From school projects in his early days, which Chuck described as “prestigious to work on” — to major industrial facilities, every project has been a favorite in his eyes.

Chuck, your dedication, leadership, and joyful presence have left a lasting mark on United Construction and the communities we serve. You will be deeply missed, and we thank you for everything you have built with us — both in structures and in relationships. Congratulations, Chuck!

At our Waltham Way project, construction remains on track for completion in June 2026, with steady progress across all phases.

To date, the team has poured more than 6,500 yards of concrete, including 300,000 sq. ft. of slab-on-grade and 25 tilt-up panels. Work has also begun on internal mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, and the fire water loop tie-in is nearly complete. The roof structure is on schedule to be finished by the end of this month.

All of this progress has been achieved while maintaining a perfect safety audit score since day one — a testament to the team’s diligence and commitment to working safely and efficiently.

To celebrate these milestones, the team enjoyed a well-earned lunch from Daddy’s Tacos. A big thank you to Bonanno Concrete, SNC, and CMC for their continued dedication and craftsmanship.

On Friday, August 15th, our team was proud to attend The Children's Cabinet’s Art of Childhood event in support of their mission to keep children safe and families together.

We join in honoring Michael and Tammy Dermody and Dixie May for their remarkable dedication and leadership over the past four decades. Their enduring commitment to the mission of The Children’s Cabinet has made a lasting impact on countless lives in our community, and their work continues to inspire all of us.

As part of the celebration, United Construction built and donated an ice cream truck playhouse for the live auction. The playhouse raised $1,750, helping support the programs and services The Children’s Cabinet provides for children and families across the region.

A big thank you to everyone at United Construction who played a part in building and delivering this year’s playhouse: Chris Bennett, Leman Jones, Cortney Roman, Amanda Kneisel, Shelby Preston, Ryan Bollinger, Angie Dawson, Carrie Dyer, Audrey Mackey, Marshal Hoffman, and Eduardo Gochez. Your time, creativity, and craftsmanship brought something truly special to this event.

We’re honored to support The Children’s Cabinet and proud to be part of a community that comes together to make a difference.

On Friday, June 20th, we had the pleasure of hosting a BBQ with our friends and partners at Dermody. This event was an opportunity to celebrate the strong working relationship that has developed between our teams over the years, built on mutual trust, shared goals, and the dedication to delivering exceptional projects.

These moments matter. They remind us that strong partnerships are built not only through hard work in the field and office but also through the connections we make along the way. We appreciated the time to share stories, catch up, and celebrate the people who make our projects a success.

A big thank you to Dermody for providing the raffle baskets, which added even more fun to the day. Here’s to more opportunities to connect and to many more successful projects ahead.

United Construction was proud to attend this year’s Construction Career Day of Northern Nevada, where nearly 2,000 middle and high school students had the opportunity to explore careers in construction.

Students were able to connect with our UCC team members, ask questions, and hear first-hand what it’s like to work in this industry — from the field to the office. We loved sharing our passion for construction, talking about the variety of career paths available, and showing students how they can help build the future of our communities.

Events like these are an incredible way to invest in the next generation of talent and keep our industry strong. Thank you to Nevada Chapter AGC and everyone who made this event possible!

We are excited to welcome Ryan Reichard to the United Construction team as a Carpenter.

Originally from southern Missouri, Ryan moved to Reno in early 2020, eager to take on new challenges and experiences. Over the years, he’s built an impressive career in construction, contributing to projects that range from major museums and county fire stations to a marina and campground for Bass Pro Shops, along with countless custom home builds and remodels. While carpentry is his main trade, Ryan has gained hands-on experience across nearly every facet of construction.

Since arriving in Reno, he has consistently demonstrated his skills and leadership on projects ranging from custom decks in Tahoe to serving as carpenter foreman during the remodel of Incline Lodge in Incline Village. His well-rounded expertise, craftsmanship, and determination make him a valuable addition to our team.

Outside of work, Ryan is a talented musician who performs solo acoustic gigs around Reno and Incline Village, often at the very hotel lounge he helped remodel. He’s also passionate about traveling, with Hawaii being a favorite destination and recent adventures taking him across Asia.

Please join us in giving Ryan a warm welcome to the team. We’re thrilled to have him on board!

United Construction is proud to share a major milestone at our 1050 Waltham Way project, all slab on grade work is now complete!

The project team achieved a remarkable feat during the week of July 4th, completing four slab pours over four consecutive days (June 30th to July 3rd). Bonanno Concrete and CMC Rebar successfully executed nine slab pours, covering +315,000 square feet of 7” thick concrete slab on grade totaling over 7,100 cubic yards of concrete placed at the project slab on grade. Due to value engineering work and the outstanding performance of SNC, Bonanno Concrete, CMC Rebar and the United Construction team, the project is currently ahead of schedule.

53 wall panels have been formed, and 34 wall panels are fully reinforced and ready for ledger installation; once the C-Channel ledgers are installed, wall panel concrete pours will commence. Starting date for wall panel tilt is anticipated to be on or near August 18th, with a contractual final completion date for the entire building in May 2026.

“This achievement reflects our approach to every United Construction project leveraging United Construction’s culture of collaboration, innovation and efficiency, and is a testament to our responsible stewardship of our customer’s investment” said Michael Whittaker, United Construction President.

Our heartfelt thank you goes out to Bonanno Concrete, CMC Rebar, SNC and the exceptional United Construction team - Nick Crawford, Justin Brunner, Leman Jones, Cortney Roman, Monica Hunt and Erin Baynard - for all their dedication and hard work on the project.

Please be sure to watch the brief video to see the slab on grade progress in action.
