The NVMA and several of our member companies joined The Discovery in Reno over the weekend for Mining Mavens, part of the museum’s EMPOW[HER] series.

Mining Mavens offered young girls a hands on introduction to mining and the chance to connect directly with women working in the industry.

Participants explored the mining process from exploration through reclamation, asked questions, and heard firsthand about different careers and the paths that can lead to them.

Coeur Mining reports a successful Q2 at its Rochester Mine, with strong production and continued investment in the site's future.

The Pershing County operation produced 1.23 million ounces of silver and 11,671 ounces of gold during the quarter, with full year guidance remaining at 6.4 to 7.8 million ounces of silver and 70,000 to 90,000 ounces of gold.

Coeur also invested roughly $2 million in exploration at Rochester during Q2, including near-pit drilling to support upcoming permitting and district-scale exploration to build the resource pipeline.

Florida Canyon is heading into the second half of 2026 with higher production and a larger long-term outlook.

Integra Resources reported 16,379 ounces of gold produced at its Pershing County mine in Q2, a 30% increase from the first quarter. The company also placed roughly 4.2 million metric tons of ore on its heap leach pads, up 45% from Q1.

An updated mine plan points to more ahead:

- 74% increase in proven and probable mineral reserves
- 17% increase in annual gold production
- $770 million in projected free cash flow over the life of the mine

P&C Recruiting is taking its Nevada roots to a global stage.

Last week, P&C announced its merger with Globe 24-7 and 3Pillars Asia Pacific, bringing together mining recruitment and HR expertise across five continents.

For Nevada, the merger means expanded workforce resources, more opportunities for mining professionals and a larger platform for expertise built right here in the state.

P&C co-founders Rhonda Zuraff and Dana Pray are two of the four owners of the combined company and will both take on global leadership roles.

Nevada Gold Mines is investing $250,000 to strengthen Nevada schools by addressing the need for more classroom teachers.

The contribution to the Public Education Foundation’s Teacher FastTrack program will support current paraprofessionals and new teachers as they work toward becoming licensed classroom teachers.

Since the program began, 228 new teachers have entered Nevada classrooms.

NGM’s investment will build on that progress, creating more opportunities for educators and strengthening public education across the state.

When the 1906 earthquake and fire leveled San Francisco, the city's gypsum plants were destroyed along with it. Rather than rebuild in California, companies constructed new plants in Nevada and shipped the material back west.

That decision helped grow Mound House into a thriving operation, and by 1911 Nevada gypsum was reaching markets as far away as Seattle and Honolulu. Two future Nevada governors had a hand in building the early industry. Today the state runs 11 gypsum operations, and seven of them are in Clark County.

Gypsum rarely makes headlines, but as Historian and former President of the NVMA, Dr. Dana R. Bennett, traces in this piece, it helped build the modern West one wall at a time.

The Pan Mine is ramping up production in White Pine County.

Mining Americas reports the operation is now mining more than 70,000 tons of material per day and is on track to reach nearly 100,000 tons per day in the second half of 2026.

The company expects Pan to produce between 32,000 and 38,000 ounces of gold this year and reported $32.6 million in Q2 revenue.

Pan is also the recipient of the Nevada Mining Association’s 2025 Operator Safety Award, marking the operation’s seventh win in the past 10 years.

A single Nevada mine accounts for an estimated 4% of U.S. copper production.

The Robinson Mine outside Ely processes roughly 16 million tons of ore each year and employs about 650 people, making it the largest employer in White Pine County.
