"Korean War Hero" and Jim Tobul are based in South Carolina and are available for airshows,selected reunions,flyovers and memorial flights for our veterans in the South Eastern United States. Flying at various show sites to display the Legacy of Naval Aviation with the West Coast Demo Team Hornets from VFA-122 based at NAS Lemoore Ca. and the East Coast Demo Team Hornets from VFA-106 based out of NAS Oceana Va.

NAS Pax River Airshow performer spotlight:Korean War Hero and Jim “Torc” Tobul!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

AIR SHOW PERFORMER SPOTLIGHT | Jim Tobul is part of the Class of '45, committed to preserving & honoring the service of American military men & women, in his F4U Corsair 'Korean War Hero' 🇺🇸 He will be among the civilian acts performing at the 2026 Pax River Air Show June 20-21 ✈️

🔴 The Corsair made its mark during WWII & has gone down in history as one of the most iconic aircraft from that time. The Corsair saw action in WWII, mainly in the Pacific theater. It also saw action during the Vietnam and Korean War.

⚪ The aircraft quickly became well-known for its gull wings, speed and the ability to land and take off from aircraft carriers.

🔵 During its service, ‘Korean War Hero’ served two tours on two different aircraft carriers and flew over 200 combat missions.

🔴 Joe and Jim Tobul bought the aircraft in 1981 and spent the next 10 years restoring it. On Dec 8, 1991, it took its first post-restoration flight. Today, Jim Tobul flies this Corsair at air shows all across the country.
