Our partner AB InBev had the honor of winning Innovation Award of the Year for its collaborative work with yours truly! Take a look at the award's shoutout from Tappi here:

Corona Extra South America- Circular Packaging
While Accord Carton Company’s Corona Extra six-pack carrier appears to be made from a regular uncoated stock, the bard is comprised of barley straw, a byproduct of the beer-making process that isnromally burned or discarded. For three years, Corona Extra’s parent company, AB InBev, worked alongside its partner, Sustainable Fiber Technologies, to hone and create a new process for turning fragile straw into a durable fiber that could be used to make paperboard. During the testing phase, the cartons proved that barley straw has what it takes to be a durable and sustainable substrate."

"Climate scientists say conserving the world’s forests is key to slowing climate change, yet three billion trees per year currently go into paper packaging and another 200 million into clothing." Tree-based paper is so old school. Check out this article in the Citizen about how important things like our technology can be to help slow climate change!
