Let's talk VFDs and reactors. This panel has a load reactor.

When should you use a load reactor? Anytime the load wiring from the VFD is over 100'

Why use a load reactor? To protect the motor from voltage spikes, overheating, and insulation breakdown

How to size a load reactor? It should be sized to the motor amperage, and should not be oversized to get the most benefits from the reactor and best protection for your motor

What is the added cost of a load reactor? That depends greatly on the size needed

A load reactor will greatly increase the life of your motor when used correctly.

BEFORE AND AFTER!

This panel had an arc flash that was caused by a generator not sending it clean 60hz. We found and fixed the cause on the generator and rebuilt the panel. This was not a panel we had originally built and there were no drawings with it, so we created new drawings for it as well. We were also able to keep all components on the back panel for ease of working on it.
