When an HVAC system stops responding, the culprit is often behind the scenes. For this home in Frisco, the issue stemmed from low-voltage electrical components on the furnace control board, which manages overall system communication. After accurately diagnosing the unit, we sourced a replacement board, installed it, and properly calibrated and secured all low-voltage connections to restore safe, reliable performance.

Control board and disconnect issues are easy to overlook until heating or cooling fails. If your system hasn't been inspected recently, reach out to us today and we'll make sure everything is running smoothly.

This North Dallas home had mold issues, so a mold company teamed up with us during the remediation.

We removed both HVAC units from their furnace closets, one on each floor, helped rebuild the closets, and reinstalled everything once the mold was fully cleared. We cleaned the coils and furnaces, treated them prior to re-installing them. Finished it off by replacing all the supply grills after the ductwork was cleaned. A job like this takes coordination, not just HVAC work.

We were actually able to determine the cause of the mold. The furnace closet was behind a shower which wasn’t completely sealed off correctly and steam from the shower was getting into the furnace close over multiple years… probably over 10 years and just slowly created a problem.

Dealing with mold and not sure where HVAC fits into the fix? Happy to talk through how that process works.

During a pre-purchase inspection on this Dallas home, we noticed one of the units was running low on refrigerant.

We were able to help the buyers negotiate a repair allowance so once the sale closed, we came back, recharged the system, and swapped out a thermostat that wasn't working right.

Also, we were able to help assure them there wasn’t a major coil leak by performing certain tests prior to the close of the house. That's the value of an inspection before you buy, small issues get caught before they become your problem.

Buying a home soon? A pre-purchase HVAC inspection is worth asking about, feel free to reach out if you want to know what that looks like.

This Richardson home had serious temperature swings upstairs during a remodel, and the homeowner expected she'd need a full system replacement.

Instead, we found the real problem: the existing unit was only 7-8 years old and perfectly fine, a new system would've actually left the current system oversized for the downstairs.

The real issue was pinched, undersized ductwork restricting airflow upstairs. The problem with 1 system for 2 levels is inconsistent temperature.

Usually the upstairs is always hotter. We opened a wall in the bathroom to upsize the main duct run to the attic, rerouted and upsized the rest of the attic ductwork to clear the restrictions, and added a zoning system for precise control upstairs.

The result held up through peak summer heat, consistent comfort on the upper floor for a fraction of what a new system would've cost. Sometimes the honest answer isn't "replace it," it's "fix what's actually wrong."

Not every uneven room needs a new system, sometimes it just needs the right diagnosis. Send us a message if yours has been acting up.

Ground-up construction means no existing ductwork to work around, so this pool house got done right the first time.

We installed a 1.5-ton ductless system on this new pool house in Cedar Hill. For pool houses, controlling humidity matters just as much as temperature, moisture from the pool area can damage the walls and framing over time if the space can't dry out properly.

That's why we sized the unit to fit the actual room instead of going bigger "just in case." A unit that's too big cools the room fast but shuts off before it can pull the moisture out of the air.

Since this went in during construction, there was no cutting into finished walls, just a clean setup built for what this space actually needs.

If you're building a pool house, guest suite, or any space without existing ductwork, happy to talk through what the right system would look like for it.

πŸ’§ North Texas, we need to talk about water.

A new report just dropped from the Texas Water Development Board, and the numbers are staggering: Texas will need to spend $174 billion over the next 50 years just to avoid a severe water crisis β€” more than DOUBLE what was projected only four years ago.

Meanwhile, the Dallas-Fort Worth area is adding nearly 500 new residents every single day, and our region is projected to grow from 8 million to 12 million people by 2050. More people. Less water. That's the math.

And it's not a future problem β€” Corpus Christi is already staring down a water emergency that could be triggered as soon as May 2026. Experts are calling this a "perfect rainless storm" β€” explosive population growth colliding with a warming, drying climate.

What does this mean for you right here in North Texas? Cities like Dallas, Fort Worth, Frisco, McKinney, and Richardson already have water restrictions in place β€” even when reservoir levels look fine. That's how serious water managers are taking this.

At Truficient, we talk a lot about energy efficiency β€” but water conservation is part of the same story. Every resource we waste today makes tomorrow harder.

We wrote a full breakdown on our blog β€” covering the Texas Tribune's landmark investigation, what North Texas cities are doing, and what YOU can do at home to make a difference. πŸ‘‡

πŸ”₯ Dallas doesn't just feel hot in the summer. It IS measurably hotter β€” and we have the NOAA data to prove which neighborhoods are bearing the biggest burden.
We just published a full research report on the Dallas Urban Heat Island Effect, and the numbers are eye-opening. Bishop Arts District recorded 110.1Β°F in August 2023. Meanwhile, the Great Trinity Forest β€” just a few miles away β€” sat at 100.9Β°F at the same moment. That's a 9.2Β°F difference within the same city.
That gap isn't just a weather trivia fact. It directly impacts:
🌑️ How hard your AC works β€” and how fast your equipment wears out
⚑ Your monthly electric bill β€” especially during those brutal 4–9pm ERCOT peak hours
🌿 Whether your system was even sized right β€” most load calculations don't account for your microclimate
Here's what the full report covers πŸ‘‡
πŸ—ΊοΈ Which Dallas neighborhoods carry the heaviest heat load β€” NOAA-confirmed zones with real 2023–2024 temperature data, including Bishop Arts, the Medical District, West Dallas, Downtown, and more
πŸ” The AC feedback loop nobody talks about β€” every inefficient air conditioner in the city dumps waste heat outside, raising ambient temps, which makes every other AC work harder. It compounds. Every summer.
βš™οΈ Why we stopped selling single-stage equipment in 2024 β€” the engineering case for variable-speed inverter systems in a heat island environment is too clear to ignore
πŸ’° How to stack your rebates β€” up to $1,000 back from Oncor + the 30% Federal IRA tax credit on qualifying heat pump installations. Most homeowners don't know these can be combined.
🌳 Why your address matters more than your square footage β€” a shaded Lakewood bungalow and a bare-lot Bishop Arts home have genuinely different cooling loads. Your HVAC system should reflect that.
If your house still doesn't cool down by 8pm on the hottest days, this report tells you exactly why β€” and what to do about it.
