Blank thermostat? Don’t panic just yet. 👀

Sometimes the fix is as simple as dead batteries or a tripped breaker, but here in the Low Country, a clogged drain line triggering the system’s safety switch is one of the most common culprits we see.

Check these few things first. And if that screen stays blank, it might be time to call in the pros. 🔧

Brand new doesn’t mean maintenance-free.

Even a new HVAC system needs regular maintenance to keep it running efficiently and help protect the investment you just made.

Take care of the new system now so it can take care of you for years to come. 🙌

Sometimes another repair makes perfect sense. Other times, you may be putting more money into a system that’s already nearing the end of its life.

Age, repair costs, rising energy bills, uneven cooling, and even the type of refrigerant your system uses can all help tell the bigger story.

And that’s why we don’t like to guess. Using MeasureQuick technology, we gather real diagnostic data about your system and your home so we can give you thoughtful, detail-driven recommendations based on what’s actually happening. 🏡

Swipe through for a few tips to see if it makes more sense to repair or replace.

I scoured the Galbreath Drive for pictures. Surely there had to be some... Right? A photo of the trucks pulling up. A picture of the new systems. Maybe a video of one of the families seeing that help had arrived. There was a story here and I was determined to tell it.

But there weren’t any.

And when I found out why, I think I understood Galbreath a little differently.

In 2024, Hurricane Debby came through our little town and left behind the kind of damage you don’t forget. The water rose into homes. Families watched things they had worked for, lived with, and loved get ruined in a matter of hours. And when the water finally went back down, they were left to figure out what came next.

For many families in our community, “what came next” included HVAC systems that had been damaged or destroyed by the flood. There were more people hurting than any one company could possibly help, but Galbreath knew they could do something.

So they found four local families who had already been through enough and replaced their HVAC systems. Completely free.

And here’s the part that gets me: nobody took pictures.

Nobody pulled out a phone and said, “We should post about this.” Nobody asked the families to stand beside their new system for a photo. There were no reels, no press release, no recognition.

They just helped.

I wasn’t working at Galbreath then. I didn’t know this story about the units they replaced until I came on board and started learning more about the company and the people behind it. And now, ironically, I’m the person whose job it is to pull out the camera, take the pictures, and tell the stories.

So when I learned that one of the stories most worth telling had never been documented at all, I knew I wanted to tell it now.

Because there’s something really special about kindness that was never intended to be seen. About doing something good for your neighbors when there’s no camera pointed at you. About quietly saying, “You’ve been through enough. Let us take care of this part.” And the more time I spend with this team at Galbreath, the more I realize the things they do when no one is watching might tell you more about who they are than anything we could ever post.

I’ve always had a passion for making sure people feel seen. I think that’s a big part of why I love what I do. There are good people doing good things every single day who would never think to point a camera at themselves or ask anyone to notice.

But sometimes, I think they deserve to be noticed anyway.
And maybe there’s something kind of fitting about the fact that Galbreath didn’t have anyone here to tell this story then… but they do now.

There may never be a photo of those four systems being installed that day. But maybe that’s what makes this story so special.

Because sometimes the clearest picture of who people really are is what they choose to do when nobody is watching.

And two years later, I’m incredibly proud that I get to be the person who helps make sure stories like this one don’t go unseen.

It has come to my attention that the person responsible for employee birthday posts is also the employee having a birthday.

They really gave me access to the page with no supervision. 😆

So please join me, in wishing me, a very happy birthday. 🎂😂
