Westwin Elements is pleased to expand its partnership with Traxys Group to support the growth of American nickel refining.

Under the amended agreements, Westwin has secured the option to extend its nickel feedstock and offtake arrangements for a total term of up to 22 years. This framework supports the company’s plans to scale U.S. production and supply high-purity nickel for industrial and national security applications.

Westwin and Traxys will collaborate to identify and secure feedstock sources, subject to Westwin’s approval. In parallel, Westwin is developing additional feedstock and offtake agreements with other partners, including efforts to develop American nickel sources and expand markets for its refined products.

Last week, Westwin Elements announced that it selected Natchez, Mississippi, for its planned commercial-scale Class 1 nickel refinery.

The planned $502 million investment over five years is expected to create 134 full-time jobs, with an average annual salary of approximately $84,000 and paid benefits for employees and their dependents.

This marks a major step toward expanding America’s nickel refining capacity, strengthening a supply critical to U.S. national defense, and creating high-paying careers in Natchez.

Westwin Elements has selected Natchez, Mississippi, as the site for its commercial Class 1 nickel refinery.

The planned project represents a $502 million investment over five years. Westwin's Phase 1 is designed to produce 18,000 tonnes of nickel annually and create 134 full-time jobs with an average annual salary of $84,000. The company's workforce plans include paid benefits for employees and their families, on-the-job training, and opportunities that do not require a college degree.

Expanding domestic nickel refining capacity will help supply the materials America’s defense, energy, and manufacturing industries need. Natchez will play an important role in that effort.
