After 19 years with Century, Kim Shields Carswell has officially retired. For many of our clients and visitors, Kim was the first friendly face you saw or the warm voice you heard on the phone. She has been a cornerstone of our front office and a true ambassador of Century’s values. While we’re sad to see her go, we’re thrilled for her as she begins this exciting new chapter in retirement. Thank you, Kim, for everything—you’ll be deeply missed!

We have been long time supporters of The Richmond Concert Band. Over 20 years ago they composed and performed the “Century Construction Company March”.

They are playing the Mother's Day event at Agecroft Hall this Sunday, so go spend an afternoon exploring the gardens and listing to music from the Concert Band.

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Century's founder, Greene Hollowell. With the unwavering support of his loving wife, Carolyn, Greene founded Century Construction Company in their home over 60 years ago. Through the buildings he helped create and the countless lives he touched, his legacy will continue to be felt throughout Richmond and beyond.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Bon Air Baptist Church, 2531 Buford Rd, Richmond, VA 23235. A reception will follow the service.

Role: Project Superintendent

Century Construction Company is looking for a project superintendent specializing in commercial and industrial construction. Project superintendent will be involved in the day to day on-site management of the project. Strong emphasis on safety, schedule management, good technical and personal skills are a must. You will interface constantly with owners, design professionals, building officials, subcontractors and tradesmen.

Qualifications:
Seven to ten years of experience in the construction industry.
Ability to read all project related blue prints.
Computer and technology skills.
Knowledge of construction methods, materials, costing, scheduling.
