Color gets a bad reputation in renovation. People worry they'll tire of it. But timeless doesn't have to mean white.

This homeowner wanted a bath with real personality, the kind you'd find in a well-loved older home. So every choice pulled from things that have already stood the test of time: a soft butter-yellow vanity and wainscoting, floral wallpaper, brass fixtures with traditional lines, and a classic tile floor with just enough pattern to feel special.

Together, we reworked the space around light and flow: white cabinetry that reflects the daylight instead of absorbing it, a navy island that anchors the room without weighing it down, and a glass-front hutch that gives the everyday dishes and glassware a home worth seeing. In this bath, it's the emerald green tile. Glossy, deep, and full of variation, it wraps the walk-in shower and catches the light from the shuttered window differently every hour of the day. Brushed gold fixtures warm it up. The pebble floor grounds it. Every project like this one starts long before demo day.

Our clients in Brandermill wanted a kitchen with warmth and personality: natural wood, organic shapes, nothing that felt like it came from a catalog. Detailed renderings helped them see the vision clearly before construction began: the wood-clad island with its stone waterfall edge, the sculptural pendant overhead, even the beverage nook tucked beneath the stairs.

Some of the best hours of a Richmond evening happen just outside the back door, if there's a place to enjoy them.

This family loved their backyard but had no real way to live in it. Together, we created two levels of outdoor space that work in every season: a covered lounge below, an open deck above with a stone privacy wall, and a sunroom with its own fireplace that opens wide to the outdoors when the weather is right.

Now there's a spot for morning coffee, a place for the grill, and room for everyone when friends stay past sunset. Not just curb appeal. A different way to live at home.

Before, daily routines in this Midlothian home meant working around the space instead of with it.

Our client wanted mornings that felt simpler. So together, we planned a suite built around their everyday: a double vanity with tower storage, a walk-in shower with a bench and built-in niche, and, the detail they use most, laundry tucked right inside the suite, steps from the closet.

No more hauling baskets across the house. Just a layout that quietly does its job every single day.

Some of the best remodeling decisions make a home easier to enjoy today and for many years to come.

For this project, we renovated nearly the entire first floor with comfort, beauty, and long-term livability in mind. The home now offers true first-floor living, including a welcoming primary suite and a luxurious bath that feels like a private retreat.

In the kitchen, warm wood tones, soft cabinetry, and a generous island create a beautiful place to cook and gather. A hidden pantry keeps everyday essentials close by without adding visual clutter. We also replaced the windows with new ones that are remarkably easy to open and close, one of those thoughtful details that makes a meaningful difference each day.
