At Integrated Power Sources of Virginia we believe in increasing renewable power production and reducing our energy consumption. Our Richmond Virginia facility is over 80% powered by solar modules. We also ship over 40,000 pounds of used batteries to the smelter each week for certified disposal of spent lead acid batteries, thus preventing harmful waste from destroying our environment. Together we

Please visit our incentive and rebates pages on our website to learn about the financial assistance that may be available for your Green project. Currently serving residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural and utility markets, we offer turnkey solar roofing solutions, wind turbines, building integrated photovoltaics (BIPV), solar ready energy star standing-seam metal roofing, as well as a wide range of mobile, marine and emergency DC power applications. Solar Power: Incentives and Rebates

Financial Incentives

Net Metering - When a grid tied solar electric system is installed the system will produce its max power during the midday when most people are not home. During this period the system will produce power and send it back to the utility making your meter spin backwards counting down what you owe each month. Carbon Credits - One carbon credit is issued for every megawatt hour of renewable production(1000 kilowatt hours). These credits can be sold to utilities to help them meet their clean energy production mandates. Federal Rebate - As part of The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 the federal government gives a 30% tax credit to businesses and home owners. Treasury Grant in lieu of the 30% credit in order to receive the funds in the same calendar year. This grant opportunity is set to expire 12/31/11 http://www.dsireusa.org

Rising Electrical Cost - It has been unwillingly accepted by the public that each year our utility cost will rise and we have no choice but to continue to pay more for our electricity. However, we really do have a choice. By investing in a renewable solar system you are paying a set price now for your future electricity. Property Value - It is estimated that by adding solar to your home, for every $1000 in annual electrical savings you add $20,000 to the value of your home. (Appraisal Journal. October 1999)

Other Reasons to Invest in Solar:

Carbon Reduction - As the demand for electricity across our country grows the number of carbon emitting power plants grows with it. In the state of Virginia this is a huge concern as some estimates say we are already powered 48% by coal. This has been hard to oppose in previous years due to the affordability of coal and the ability of Utilities to produce cheap energy from it. Now with financial incentives across the board we can stop adding to the carbon problem and produce clean distributed energy as individuals by investing in renewables. Education and Jobs - With developing countries around the world investing in sustainable infrastructures, it is important America stays in the forefront of the technologies involved. As the sustainable market grows, educational programs and facilities are created, out of which comes jobs, skilled workers, and economic growth. Energy Security - As the climate changes and storms increase the magnitude of their destructive path each year, Solar Battery Backed-up Systems are becoming a necessity within our infrastructure. Investing in battery backed-up power can ensure that the basic essentials in a household are covered during emergencies and severe power outages.

We are proud to have been part of this project to solarize seven new high efficiency houses on West Leigh Street - Carver's "Solar Row." Each of these units is equipped with 5.6kW solar PV systems that will offset a significant portion of their electrical bill with green power. Thank you project:HOMES for the opportunity to bring more solar power to our city.

Seven solar-powered homes are now part of the Carver neighborhood’s housing stock, six months after their foundations first saw the light of day.

Here's an overdue photo featuring the completed 81,840 watt solar project at Cros-B-Crest Farm farm that provides power for the horticultural greenhouse operation onsite. This project was completed in late 2018 and was partially funded by the USDA Rural Energy for America Program. Thanks to Cros-B-Crest Farm for installing their second ground-mounted solar PV array in 5 years with Integrated Power Sources of Virginia.

Integrated Power Sources of Virginia recently completed a 122,760 watt ground-mounted solar array on a farm in eastern Virginia. This project uses 372 330-watt solar panels and 10 string inverters to provide grid-tied green energy via net metering to offset power consumption on the property. Very excited to have this up and running!

IPSofVA Just Broke Ground on Cros-B-Crest Farm's New 80kw Solar Expansion - Kicking it off early this week with some ground prep and gravel spraying!

After more than two years of using the sun’s energy to power the poultry houses with a 50kw ground mount array, Cros-B-Crest Farms is furthering their commitment to solar power by adding a new 80kw array to completely offset the electrical consumption of their extensive greenhouse operation.

Check out https://www.facebook.com/CrosBCrest/ and like their page to show your support for their commitment to Solar. We will post more updates for the project as it comes along - stay tuned for pictures/video of the racking and modules' installation process.

Integrated Power Sources partnered with Envirable Grow Systems, VSU, VCU and the Junior League of Richmond to provide off-grid solar power systems to this new mobile education unit. This unique solar powered mobile hydroponic greenhouse will provide the opportunity for education, research, and hands-on experience for students in urban communities, and will achieve the common goal of growing healthy local food sustainably.

Thank you to all the students and other participants who worked very hard to make this project happen.
