Cause or Community To Honor the memory of my grandson David, Join Cause or Community' s goal of going to the LA2015 Special Olympics World Games in LA 2015.

My name is Robin Potter and I am a Cancer survivor. I am the Grandmother of David, who was born with Down Syndrome and lost his fight when he was 2 1/2 years old in 1997. David was a fighter and he battled with Down Syndrome for as long as he could. He always had a smile on his face and I like to think that our family was given an Angel to take care of while he was on earth. I founded Cause or Co

mmunity as a way of giving back, helping my Community and raising awareness of Special Olympics and Special needs families. In honor of my grandson David, I have literally picked up the "Torch." David would have been a Special Olympics Champion. Our Long term goal was set to support Special Olympics at the LA 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games. I have been very blessed to have a career that includes 30 years experience in Broadcast Engineering, Editing many productions, Nominated for Emmys. Broadcast Engineer NBC TV and WOUB-TV, IDB International Satellite Teleport in LA, Lockheed Martin Deputy Director Operations, retired. I am a current member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Ohio Chapter. I volunteered to help UCLA Graduate Student as assistant film editor and we won 1st place in several Film Festivals. I volunteered my time at Athens Video Worrks (AVW) Productions as Engineering and Operations Manager.. I have volunteered my time to many projects and payed it forward whenever possible. Cause or Community is a labor of love for me and raising the awareness of Special Olympics is very important.

Greetings Robin,

We are the world’s largest public health organization for people with intellectual disabilities and a leading voice in changing attitudes and fighting negative stereotypes. But when most people hear about Special Olympics, they think about sports competitions. And for a good reason! Last year we hosted over 81,000 events, averaging 222 games a day and 9 games an hour. From track meets at local high schools to the bright lights of World Games, competitions are a chance for our athletes to showcase their abilities and gain confidence with every mile and every goal.

As we speak, our 2014 USA Games are under way. Athletes from all over the United States are competing in summer sports like swimming, soccer, tennis, volleyball and many more. It’s been an amazing week and we wanted to share with you some of their stories and excitement.

"Wynonna & Cactus. The Road Back." This is an incredible Documentary. Cactus makes his decision to survive his devastating motorcycle accident. Losing his leg and all the therapy he endures to be able to use his hand again is an example off courage, hope and looking at a disability as a challenge; not an obstacle.
